I can’t wait to meet your dog ☺️
Pet care experience
Hey everyone! My family loves to have extra pets visit. We are a big family with plenty of love to spread around. I have kid aged 3-12 so we're often a busy house, but there is always someone home so we are happy to share our space. Might I address the elephant in the room? I recently received one of the only negative reviews in the area. If you have any questions about that, please feel free to ask. I want every stay to be a pleasant one. That particular client left the review when she discovered three weeks after her stay that her dog had fleas. As the review was written three weeks later, I can't possibly know if they were from my back yard, from the dog that stayed with us the same weekend her pup did, or from somewhere else entirely. It could have been any time between her stay and the three weeks before she left that review. I get it though, my life can be messy with kids and dogs and I would honestly probably blame myself in her shoes as well. If you would like, I can provide references from several clients who have been leaving their pups with me many times over more than a year. Please consider us for taking care of your pups, we all love dogs. I walked dogs for wag when I first moved to the area back in 2015. I adopted my dog Stella around that same time when she was six weeks old, she's now eight years old and happy. Our house is non-smoking, has younger kids, older kids, a dog (obviously) and cats. We have a completely fenced-in yard in the back that your pup can play in as much or as little as they want. I included a picture of my whole family. My cousin lives with us as a bonus parent/live in nanny/awesome auntie. She and I are very similar in how we care for pets and kids, so you're in good hands no matter what. I work in Matthews 3 days per week and from home in concord 2 days per week. Your drop off or pick up might be with either me, my husband James, or my cousin Meghan. Also, if you're farther away I may be open to meeting somewhere to pick up your pup or having you drop them off at the end of my work day in Matthews. Sorry this is a long bio but I want you to be as comfortable as possible. Boarding your pet is so stressful and I don't want to increase that stress.
Reviews
My mother always said if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything. But I can't hold my peace. Please! PLEASE make sure you have a back-up when you plan to drop off your baby(ies). I was VERY hesitant to leave my baby at this home. It was in TOTAL disarray AND now my pup has FLEAS!! The vet even said, because of our care history and the time frame our pup more than likely got FLEAS from AMANDA'S HOUSE!! A $250.00 vet bill AND a VERY unhappy mom and pup... I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this sitter!
I contacted Amanda last minute to watched my dog Blue. She did an amazing job. I would recommend her to anyone needing a pet sitter.
Amanda was great with our highly energetic husky mix. Always shared photos which eases my momma heart . Would use her again.
Amazing! Love the communication and updates. Will book again

Again, the backyard is totally fenced in (the front is only partial). I treat each dog the way I would treat my own. My kids get excited about each new dog that arrives but generally keep to themselves. They like to play, but only when the dog initiates it. if a pup is more reserved, the kids will let them be.

Information Amanda L. would like to know about your pet
Let me know how your dog does with other dogs, cats, and kids. Please share feeding schedules and any aversions they may have so I can keep them feeling safe and happy. I do my absolute best to keep human food away from dogs, but kids generally drop things, so please let me know if there are any allergies I should be aware of.
A typical day
we can play in my fenced-in back yard and I can walk the dog up to three times per day. The neighborhood is great for walking and very dog friendly.

Availability
A family member watches my children out of my home, so there is always someone here. We feed on your schedule. We generally only use crates when the dogs prefer them - Some do, some don't. If your dog likes to hang out in the yard for a while we can accommodate that, but if they're an "indoor dog" (like mine) that's fine too and we can just do potty breaks and hang out inside.
