Welcome to Cougar Creek Dog Resort! Dogs light up my world! I have had the pleasure of living with dogs since I was 8 and rescued my first pup. I have over 30 years experience taking care of dogs of multiple breeds, all sizes and all ages. We offer a relaxed environment for your dog and limit the number of guests we host so your dog will receive 1:1 care and attention. Despite my love for cats, I am only accepting dogs. I am unfortunately allergic to cats. I graduated law school from the U of I and I was an attorney for a decade. Although I loved being an attorney, it was very stressful & I needed a change of pace. I still have a strong desire to help people, so I combined that with my love for dogs and need for exercise and thought this would be perfect!

Amanda is wonderful. I am so impressed with how she treats my dog like family. She also is very accommodating with scheduling and providing details on how my dog is doing during his stay. My baby is very energetic and can be stubborn in learning new things. Amanda does a fantastic job in handling both of these issues.
Amanda was absolutely amazing! Our puppy was in heaven exploring the property and running with new friends. She was so communicative and we got so many updates. It’s so clear that she adores animals and our puppy had a wonderful time! Can’t wait to go back!

I live on 10 acres with a slow moving, year round creek that our a German Shepherd loves getting into. My home has a fenced backyard with a dog door for quick potty breaks. I have 3 elderly dogs who are welcoming of new friends and an incredibly helpful husband who loves dogs just as much as I do! My husband Jason and I are a team, he helps makes this possible. I am willing to follow any given direction regarding feeding, walking, treats, nap time, etc. I will treat your fur baby as my own. I will send you multiple pictures throughout the day, and you are always free to contact me any time during your pup's stay.

I would appreciate knowing what your dog loves and what they hate. If there are specific triggers, dos or don’ts. I want to know if your dog is friendly with other dogs and humans. I only accept friendly, well behaved, potty trained dogs. It is my preference to have a meet and greet prior to boarding, but exceptions will be made.
A typical day
I love helping dogs learn, whether that’s through play time, mental enrichment games or simply letting them smell the smells a little longer while on a walk. While at my home, we go on multiple walks throughout the day regardless of weather, play off leash if that’s ok with parents, and visit the creek. If your pups cannot be trusted off leash, we have a large fenced area where your pup can roam safely. Your dog will not be kenneled unless it is their preference. We have a spare bedroom where your pup would sleep.

I am available 7 days per week, including weekends and holidays. I am currently limiting my services to daycare & boarding. When your dog comes to my home, they are treated like family! Your dog must be friendly toward others dogs, as I have 3 senior dogs, a German shepherd, a mini Dachshund, & a Chihuahua mix.
