All Animals Welcome
Pet care experience
Growing up my family always had cats and a dog. Early on, I had a passion for animal care and attempted to apply at our veterinarian's office in order to jumpstart my career. They directed me to a local non-profit animal rescue where I began volunteering at 13 years old. By 15, I was a supervisor and led a team in caring for 60+ dogs every Friday night all throughout high school and into college. I've personally owned dogs, cats, ducks, and a pig! I am more than comfortable caring for livestock such as cows, horses, goats, etc. in addition to any smaller domesticated animals. EXOTIC PETS WELCOME! Please contact me to discuss rates for pets other than dogs/cats **Dog Training available upon request, contact to discuss rates**
Reviews
Amanda went above and beyond what was expected and we are so grateful for the great care she gave our injured fur baby. We highly recommend her!
Amanda is HANDS DOWN the best dog-sitter I have ever had! I never had to worry about my pup being neglected or unloved while I was out of town because Amanda treated Cali like her own! She always sent me pictures of her playing, and even bought her some toys. Amanda treats all animals with love and respect. Even the fussiest of pets will love her!

Safety, trust & environment
As a supervisor of an animal shelter for over 6 years, I was in charge of administering all medicines, addressing old and new wounds, in addition to general quality checks for all animals present in the shelter. Personally, I own a hyperactive dog, an older cat, as well as a mini-pig. So, while safety is always a number one concern with any group of animals, training and consistent boundaries are what I believe keeps animals safe overall. My own home has a fenced in back yard with both grass and concrete to play on. Inside, we utilize baby gates and shut doors.
Information Amanda L. would like to know about your pet
Any and all information you can think to tell me ahead of time is preferred. From daily routines and favorite treats/toys to any aggressive behaviors I should potentially be aware of, I'm more than happy to hear it all! Quite honestly, the more information, the better.
A typical day
I love exploring new places and going hiking. My dog, Merlin, and I typically find more secluded trails and parks but his favorite is definitely Blakeley State Park. Additionally, since I hurt my leg 2 years ago and firsthand experienced the difficulties of living with a disability and owning a hyper and untrained puppy, I am willing to offer free leash training to all clients who wish to use my services.
