Pet care experience
Back in the day when your parents came to school to talk about what they did for a living, I was always so proud. My friends and classmates thought it was so cool that my mom was and is a veterinarian. Caring for animals has always been a part of my upbringing and personal ethos. I’ve helped care for all kinds of breeds and rescues as well as cats and horses. My mom also used to breed show Pitbulls when I was young. It’s one thing to love being around animals and another to know how to take care of them in stressful situations when they fall ill or get injured. I’ve been around many dogs in emergency situations and I am very comfortable taking charge administering CPR, medications, and injections if needed. Although I don’t have professional veterinary training, I learned a lot from watching my mother work. It’s not the type of job you clock out of, but a lifestyle, an identity. I’ve been a dog lover as long as I can remember, and can’t imagine my life without them. Other than being obsessed with dogs, I’m a carefree, caring, energetic person. I kind of sound like a Golden Retriever, don’t I? I’m lucky enough to have a part-time job that allows me to play with puppies all day! But overall, my schedule is very flexible and I have plenty of time to care for your pup while you’re away. My neighbor happens to be my best friend and I can always count on her to help me out, so if there is ever a tight situation or timing conflict, she can pop by day or night––but this is the exception, not the rule. For me, caring for dogs is not just about the basics of feeding and walking. It’s about giving and receiving endless, genuine love. There’s never a better moment than when a dog looks you square in the eyes and you have that indescribable moment when you feel two souls connecting. I can honestly say I live for that moment, that bond between dog and human. My other interests include hanging out at the beach (with your pup), surfing, rollerblading, biking, yoga, and jogging. Guess you can say I’m an active beach bum. You can be sure that your pup will get lots of fresh air and exercise while under my care. I love going on adventures, both urban and in nature, so I hope to have a buddy for lots of fun! Then we’ll come home, tired but happy, and snuggle up on the couch with a good book or a movie on Netflix. I also love to cook and eat, so we’ll definitely have some great mealtimes together.

Took my booking on short notice and my dogs were confused as to why they were leaving the fun lady that took them on beach walks. I was happy to see they we’re good and tuckered out.
Amanda went above and beyond again, taking my dogs on a nice long walk and feeding them as asked. They clearly love hanging out with her, which is always a good sign. Will continue to book!
Amanda was super helpful despite my short notice booking. She kept me updated on how my dogs were doing and let me know how they behaved. I can tell they loved being around her based on the nap pictures(they love attention but not everyone gets naps!). I would definitely and plan to book with her again! She very obviously loves and cares for your dogs like they’re hers
Amanda was amazing with my pup, making her feel at home n bonding with her. This was the first time I used a dog sitter and Amanda helped me feel comfortable with leaving my pup with her, and her warm and beautiful personality. I would recommend her to anyone as she was absolutely terrific.

Information Amanda K. would like to know about your pet
Having grown up a veterinarian’s daughter, I’m going to want to know everything there is to know about your pup. I think a meet and greet is a great way to get a sense of each other but also learn about your dog’s specific routines, needs, and triggers. The more I know, the better care I can provide. I’m a stickler for details, so no piece of information will be ignored. Again, I’m comfortable around all breeds, sizes, and ages, so I’ll adapt my service to your dog’s particular habits and energy level. I’m also one of those Millennials who like to take pictures of everything, so you won’t have to worry about getting regular updates from me. If anything, you’ll probably tell me to stop sending you all those photos and videos. I have my phone on me all the time, so if you ever have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to get in contact with me.
A typical day
I live right along the boardwalk so your dog will get plenty of beach time! I also have a small fenced-in courtyard so your pup can freely wander and play. Dogs are allowed on the beach before 9 and after 4, so we’ll definitely get some sun early and later in the day. I also love to hang out on my patio, so your pup can take a nap or we’ll play a game of fetch or tug of war. I also love to hike, so if your dog is up for some adventure, we can take longer trips on trails. Dog parks are also a great way for dogs to burn off some energy and meet other furry friends.
