Pet care experience
Greetings! My name is Amanda and pets are my profession! I work full time with animals daily and specialize in senior pets, pets with anxiety disorders, disabled pets and pets with special needs who need a bit more TLC. I attempt to provide memorable staycations for your pets while you are traveling. I also do drop in visits, dog walking, positive reinforcement training, and other services. I have been a lifelong animal lover and am extremely passionate about pets. I have numerous years of professional and hobby experience in caring for a wide variety of pets ranging from dogs of all breeds, cats, rabbits, birds, horses, livestock and more. I currently have two cats (Kolby & Sugar) and one dog (Nala). I have taken several training courses including becoming certified in Pet CPR & First Aid through Pro Pet Hero and am continuing my education through Cornell University to eventually become a vet tech and do animal behavior training. I also am licensed, bonded and insured personally outside of Rover through Pet Sitters Associate's. I own my own pet care company, Bark and Bay Pet Care in Central Square, NY. Pet & House Sitting: I prefer to provide loving care for your pets while you’re away from the comfort and convenience of your own home. This allows your pets to stay in a familiar environment and allow me to carefully follow any specific instructions provided. Your pets are less stressed while you’re away at work or traveling. Every visit is tailored to your pets needs and I am even able to assist with any chores or other requests you may have. I am able to provide your pet with more attention, play, and exercise than they might be given from boarding in a kennel. As well as, closely monitoring any medication or medical needs your pets may have. I understand that each pet has their own unique personalities and do my best to cater to any concerns you may have. I take pet sitting seriously and while you’re away, I treat your pets like my family. I am experienced with senior pets, puppies, pets with various disabilities or medication needs. Pet care Included: long exercise walk/bathroom breaks, feeding/water, tick check/paw cleaning, heel & leash training/practice, sensory stimulation & area explore, medication administration, playtime, accident cleanup, litter cleaning, treats, lots of extra attention, and brushing. Home care included: bringing in mail/packages, plant/garden watering, adjust house temps, window blinds/lights, lock check, storm prep, trash takeout, refill outdoor bird feeders/baths and any other reasonable pet/home related tasks. * I will provide as many photo and video updates as you request using your preferred method of contact. I also provide GPS maps and a report of each walk for you to know your pet is getting the exercise they need upon request. Walk lengths may vary depending on weather & health of your pet. Pet owners who hire me appreciate the peace of mind that comes from knowing their pets are receiving excellent, expert care when they cannot be there themselves. Meet & Greets: Typically I require to do a meet & greet prior to services beginning. This allows your pet to get to know me and feel comfortable. During the meet & greet process I will ask you questions regarding your pets feeding, walking, sleeping and play routines and learn exactly how you do things (ie. where you store your pets food, toys, what route they prefer to walk etc.) There is no key charge if you have one ready for me at the meet & greet, otherwise there is a $10 fee to pick up a key prior to services beginning.
Reviews
5 stars is not enough to express how totally wonderful Amanda was with my fury friend and leaving the house in great shape! She is a super person that will really " care" for your pet(s, in addition to being very respectful of your home. Could not be more pleased!!
Amanda was absolutely wonderful! So kind and considerate and followed our schedule with our high anxiety dog and two cats perfectly and with no issues! I could tell when we had our meet and greet that she has a great heart, and our dog responded to her very well- she’s not always welcoming of people she doesn’t know, but Amanda won her over in no time. Very happy that we found someone that we can trust our fur babies with! ?
Amanda took on my Daisy girl last minute, went along with all of my change in plans, sent lots of pictures and videos, and was very communicative. Even though she only cared for her for a night, I know my girl was super well taken care of, and our house was in perfect condition when we got home! Definitely would recommend to anyone else ☺️
Amanda was easy to communicate details with before our trip. She sent us pictures when she arrived and gave me an update when her overnight stay was complete. Our two dogs seemed happy when we returned and the house was in good condition. This was our second time using Amanda and I am sure we will be again!
