Pet care experience
I am currently a homemaker, engaged to a New York City paramedic. My life revolves around my pets. Anything they need or want they get. IG @amanda.rover.walker I was a veterinary technician and owned a grooming company. I have 1 dog and 3 cats of my own, all rescues. Caring for animals is what gives me life. I specialize in cats, especially antisocial ones. At work, back when I was still a vet tech, they called me the crazy cat lady because I was unafraid and able to work with even the most difficult of cats. I have away with them that puts them at ease and allows me to get through to them to become their friend. I work for Rover full time. Pet care is what plans my entire day. My pets are spoiled rotten. I would never treat anyone else’s pets as if they weren’t my own. Caring for animals is my main goal in life, no matter what they need. I believe all animals deserved to be treated as the blessings they are.

We wouldn’t think of hiring anyone other Amanda to take care of our cat when we are away! In fact, I think our cat prefers to play with Amanda rather than us!
We’ve had Amanda watch our cat countless times and he’s always so happy when we return. You can tell that he’s relaxed and well cared for. The house looks great too. She always takes care of everything so you don’t need to worry. Treats him like family!

Amanda and Josh are absolutely AMAZING! They’ve been taking care of our boy Zeus for the past few weeks and go above and beyond!!! They made an effort to meet us first before booking which meant the world to us. Every visit they send us constant updates, photos and videos. They are just the absolute best and care so much for Zeus.

I work to build trust between your animals and myself. Every situation is different, but before our scheduled time I will ask you about your pets to know how best to gain their trust. When I am with your animals safety is key. They get my undivided attention except for taking their photos for you as well as any messages I may have for you about them. Having been a veterinary technician I know what signs to look for for any injury or illness.

Important information to know about your pet ahead of time is the pets activity level, degree of health, age and receptiveness to new people and experiences.
A typical day
Fun activities I would do with the dogs that I watch are different games depending on what they like, getting to know them and their toys and see what their preferences. Special places to go on walks or wherever the dog is most comfortable. If the owner is comfortable then I will walk the dog in a local park or wherever the owner prefers. If I am pet sitting for an extended period of time, or even just a few days, and the owner wants their dog brought to the dog park, my vehicle is set up to safely transport animals as I transport my own in it. I have no problem bringing a clients dog to the dog park if that is what they want done.
