Care your Dogs will Wag for!
Pet care experience
I provide a completely detached home with a fenced in backyard, fenced in front and back decks, my personal dogs to keep yours company when they are boarding or coming to Doggy Day Care. If its fetch, digging or a love of water that your darling desires I have no trouble obliging. I also have my own transportation; taking your darling to Shubie or any other local park is not a problem or we can just walk around your neighborhood, your choice. If its a puppy you have then it will get all the playful socialization it could want with my 3 dogs. I do not crate dogs unless you ask me to and I can accommodate for any special diet or medication the dog might need. Dog care is my life and passion, with a diploma in Canine Specialist and years of experience with my dogs and others fitting your beloved into my week is a joy and privilege. I believe in positive enforcement for all dogs. Every canine has its own specific needs and I'm happy to oblige. In my own home I offer a fenced in backyard, doggy seat belts in my mini van, I allow dogs on the furniture and crates if the owner wishes it.
Reviews
My dogs absolutely love her!
If i could possibly give no stars i would. I brought this to rovers attention and they said they would de-activate this sitter and have not so i leave this review in case anyone is looking to do long term stays with amanda. The positives: she was very prompt when i had questions about the stay for our dog kaya, very accommodating in the sense of a last minute booking as our other dog sitter cancelled on us last minute after the hurricane hit and we were leaving in 2 days. She said it would be no issue at all, that she could accommodate kaya, that she was able to care for her even though the power outages etc... i also offered to bring kaya her own water in case she didn't have water due to power outages wide spread... (to which she responded: "what tap wont work for her?" And i said no, i just wanted her to have water for her stay because of power not powering the city supply.) That being said i dropped her off with her bowls, food(which i marked the level on our container to see how much she would eat as i monitor it for purchasing sake) and she said to not leave toys etc... as they would most likely not return the way they were dropped off, and i gound out then that it wasnt unusual for her to have upwards of 9 dogs at a time. She said she would send lots of pictures and let me know how it was going. Well 3 days in i had only recieved a 20 second video clip of her walking around and 1 picture. I had to end up asking her for pictures of kaya and her progress which i thought was odd as every other time i have left her with other people i had always recieved lots. She is like our 4th kid at home so i take her care setiously. That being said my husband came back after 9 days and picked her up. She couldn't get in the car heraelf he had to lift her as she coulsnt jump in, she wasnt even 18 months at that point and was extrwmely lively. She lost over 10 lbs, we took her into the vet and she was extremely dehydrated and malnourished and we had to keep a close eye on her. It took her 4 days before she was walking normally again. My husband didnt know if she was going to survive her first night home. The odor from her mouth and on her coat was absolutely disgusting it smelled like she was rotting inside. I had her fully groomed 2 days prior to dropping her off... kaya was on thin ice for 4 days and by the time the kids and i got home she was finally walking normally. He had to hand feed her because she couldnt stand to eat at her bowl. I will never use amanda again or reccomend her services for any length of stay. I cant believe she is still able to book after what i had called in experienced and rover told me they were deactivating her for long stays. Please take heed when using people on this service as you truly never know what your going to get... if i couls post photos of her prior, the day she came home, and today with this review you would think twice. Thank god she was a pupppy and not an older dog...
From the first message, Amanda was nothing but amazing! Our dogs came home from their two night getaway happy, tired, and full of smiles. She was so responsive and incredibly helpful!
Amanda went above and beyond. Not only did she have to take care of our cats during a massive hurricane, without skipping a beat, our poor senior cat with failing kidneys got so Ill while we were away in Greece she had to get put down (as recommended by the vet) Amanda went way beyond her duties and took our cat to the vet. stayed with her when my emergency contact was unavailable. Although I told Amanda she didn’t have to stay with the cat, she insisted and stayed to make her comfortable in her last minutes of life. I can’t say enough about the quality of care my pets received. My house was immaculate when we got home. My other cat Eddie didn’t even seem to miss us, so it was clear he was getting some love. This was an incredible pet sitting experience. Never do you expect tragedy to hit while you are away, but Amanda stepped up to the plate and was our family’s life saver. She now can add palliative pet care to her list of amazing qualities.
