Committed to being active with pets

Pet care experience

I am a recent graduate student working full time Mon-Wed noon-10pm and Thursdays 10am-6pm. If I have time in between I would love to care for your pets! All my life I have been surrounded by cats, dogs, hamsters, fish, and birds as house pets! The pet that I believe has made the biggest impact on my life was our family Maltese, Cody. My cousin Stephany brought him home one day (a fellow student was giving away puppies) and he was the house pet for my aunt and three cousins. Due to certain circumstances my Aunt wasn't able to take care of him anymore so Cody bounced around between my house and my grandmothers house. After my grandfather's passing, my grandmother became the main caretaker for Cody because she had more time to commit to him and she had a bigger home and backyard for him to play in. When she went away for three months every summer to her house in Spain, my mother and I would take care of him, thus why I call him the "family pet" because he really did fall in to any house routine that he was put in and loved us all unconditionally. After his passing my grandmother did not want another pet because of her older age, and my parents did not want to get another dog because I was away at school and both my parents work 9am-5pm or 6pm jobs. Fortunately, we have always been the "babysitters" for the pets of our friends, so including Cody, I have helped my mom take care of a Puggle, Boxer, Husky, and numerous cats. I actually have helped saved a liter of kittens from malnutrition and disease from a bad backyard situation and was able to get them the medical attention they needed. Even though I have never owned a dog or cat directly, these furry friends have always had a presence in my life and I hope that when I can have the time and space for one in the future, I can put all my experience to use! I have committed myself to leading a healthy lifestyle. I have been hitting the gym almost every day and hope that by becoming a dog walker/sitter, I do not lose this motivation. Being active and surrounded by fluffy bodies of energy sounds like the best workout and best job! I have the IPhone 8+ with 64 GB of memory and an unlimited data plan, making the use of a GPS app or the Rover app a breeze! I do own my own car, a 2009 Nissan Versa so transportation will be no problem! I cannot wait to meet an important part of your family

Amanda is amazing! She is so kind and was so patient with my shy fur-baby. I was extremely nervous leaving my dog with someone I didn't know, but she did an amazing job. I will definitely book her again!

Precious loved Amanda the first time she met her. Amanda is patient and truly cares for the animals that are under her responsibility. Most importantly she’s trust worthy. I was very blessed that we’ve found Amanda. The weight of knowing my pet is in good hands and my home is taken care of, is priceless peace of mind.

Amanda is awesome! She did a meet and greet first which was great especially since I wouldn’t be home when she would pick my Miso. Answers back right away and makes sure my baby is good before parting ways! Will use her in the future when needed! Thanks Amanda!

I do not have any breed preferences! Any type of dog at any age is good for me!

A typical day

Dogs deserve up to four walks per day! Morning, mid day, afternoon, and possible nights will help dogs release any energy and stay active! I love going to parks and being outdoors (weather permitting) so playing fetch or tug of war in a backyard or taking laps around a park will be enjoyable!
