Fur kid staycation location!
Pet care experience
Past: Dogs have been part of my family as long as I can remember! I also worked as a vet tech in High School, which gave me technical training and exposure to handling all sorts of dogs - especially those in an unfamiliar environment. Present: My household and other immediate family have always had 2 or more dogs each - we are always outnumbered at the holidays when we gather and am familiar with managing a lot of pups at once! I currently have one, incredibly sweet and gentle fur kid, Walt. I also have a cat, Lucy, but she has a separate section of the house to herself. While Lucy is independent and hardly ever socializes throughout the house, she is very used to dogs, is not aggressive around them, and will very unlikely interact with any rover guests at all. Back to Walt and my approach to pets, I like to give them a structured routine to rely on. Walt was trained through methods from Standing Stone Kennels, which we revisit often for continued learning. My neighbors are also fosters and very knowledgeable about pet care, which is just added assurance that bringing your pup here is a safe and stable environment! I am a regular sitter* for friends, coworkers, and neighbors, too! * = While sitting through Rover, no other animals would be allowed in the house. Future: My house would love to be a staycation location for your pups! Keeping your pup here will put your mind at ease while you travel, knowing they will be well cared for.
Reviews
Amanda was so great with her updates and our puppy loved staying here! Will definitely be booking again and recommending to other dog parents! Thank you!!
Amanda took care of our 8 month old beagle for 8 nights while we were on vacation and we couldn’t be happier with her as a pet sitter! She is very responsible and knowledgeable about dogs and gave us daily updates and pics. Her dog Walt is the sweetest. I felt like we were leaving Bruno on his own puppy vacay!
Amanda is the absolute best! My dog Cooper loves her and loves to play with her dog Walt as well! Amanda’s communication is top tier & she always provides pictures/updates, along with great feedback at the end of the stay! This is my second time using her & I will never use anyone else!!! She is the best! Couldn’t recommend her more!
Amanda took great care of my pup and was very communicative, and her fur baby, Walt was a great playmate for my dog. I would def use her services in the future if needed!

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced-in backyard for regular potty breaks and general outdoor playtime. My yard is also treated for mosquitoes/fleas/ticks. My house is also in a quiet neighborhood, which makes walks and socializing easy. I have an XL kennel that can be used as a place to relax, alone time, etc. I never use it as punishment with my own pets as they are trained to rely on the kennel as their place for downtime. I also have cameras in the house and backyard that I can use to check in and communicate with pets while I am out of the house. I know there can be a lot of ways to establish trust with a new pet, but I have the experience, tools, and interest to make that a priority.

Information Amanda F. would like to know about your pet
Let me know your expectations for the pup and any special requirements that I can accommodate. Information that is helpful to know: activity level, feeding schedule, allergies, bedtime, etc. I am happy to follow any particular instructions to make the best of your pets' stay with me! Also happy to send regular updates and pictures! Remember: I have a cat, but she resides in a separate section of the house and will not interact with your pet. For the safety of my dog and yours, I ask for crate-trained dogs so that I can place rover pets in the crate only while I am out of the house or sleeping.
A typical day
My neighborhood is a great walking route, where two laps equals a mile. There are additional subdivisions within a short distance to mine, that I utilize frequently with my dog for a longer walk. There are also public parks and a dog park under a 5-minute drive. Because I have my own dog, there will be plenty of play and interaction available. Walt can also be very chill, and is intuitive to know when to leave other dogs alone.

Availability
I work remotely Mondays and Thursdays. The days I work in the office, I am away from 8-530. My pets get top priority in the morning before I leave and as soon as I am home with a walk, enrichment toys/treats, etc. I also make the most of my remote days and weekends to get them outside, socializing with others, car rides, etc. I can easily apply any of these routines to your pup while they stay with me! My work schedule can also be flexible if I need to take half days or remote days.
