Hello! My name is Amanda. I'm a 28 year old college graduate with a BA in Communications. I have been working with animals for the last 6 years & have learned it is my passion to help animals in any way I'm able. I've developed a strong interest in canine behavior and am hoping to expand that interest into a career in the near future. Currently working as a professional dog walker/pet sitter/ trainer, I have also worked as an Adoption Counselor/Animal Caretaker at an animal shelter for 2 years, and a CSR at a vets office for almost 2 years. I am comfortable with walking all breeds of dogs, and happy to work on any trainings you may be doing at home, as well as give advice on behaviors I notice during my time with your pet if you wish. I have two cats of my own who can be rebellious to put it lightly. I've worked with and am comfortable with canines & felines. Amanda watched our two dogs and guinea pig for the first time this week. She was responsive and kept us updated throughout the visit. Our house was left tidy and the dogs well cared for. Will definitely ask her back!
Amanda took great care of our dog and cat while we were away for the weekend. We are always nervous leaving our dog overnight, but she was taken care of so well. We came home to a clean home and a very happy pup. Amanda had great communication and sent us photos throughout her stay. She clearly gave lots of love and cuddles and played with them like they were her own. I would highly recommend Amanda and will be using her again in the future!
Amanda was amazing! This was the first time anyone has watched my 3 year old Great Dane overnight, and he is a very protective dog. She came over twice before I left to ensure he knew who she was. Even though I said she could keep him in his pen while sleeping, she made sure to sleep in bed with him! She went above and beyond for us, took him on numerous walks even though he is difficult on the leash, she gave more than daily updates, sent pictures and overall was a dream. We are now having her take him for a walk when we have long days at work! We couldn’t have asked for someone to take better care of our dog, I was a little worried he wasn’t gonna want us to come home with the amount of attention she was giving him! It also comforted us knowing she works at the vets office and pays attention to any differences in his skin/behavior! I honestly think she hardly made any money from watching him with the amount of snacks, toys and blankets she bought for duke! If you are looking into someone to care for your fur babies, look no further! Thanks again Amanda, see you soon!
Amanda went above and beyond for my maisie girl! After a night away we came home to a happy and tired doggy. Maisie can be alot of dog as a giant breed and amanda had creative insight to keep her mind busy including dog art activities!

Depending on what service is needed from me, I will handle the task at hand with grace. Much like when I worked at Pet Pals and did have access to pet owners home keys/ codes/ etc, I would leave the home looking just as you left it. Making sure there is no safety concerns for your pet would be my biggest priority, feeding the pet, ensuring they are able to eliminate themselves, having a good quality play period. (whether the pet wants it to last minutes, or hours) I would hopefully fill the gap of time their owner isn't present and ensure they are feeling safe, comfortable, and happy in their home while they wait for their owners to come home

Is your dog up to date on the Rabies Vaccine, Distemper Vaccine, and Veterinary Exam? Has your dog bitten another dog, or person? Have they done this in the last 10 days? Does your dog have any triggers? Does your dog have any allergies? Any concerning behaviors that your dog displays, that a stranger would want to know? Does the dog do well with strangers in general? Any dog reactivity? How is the best handling method for your dog: such as leash, harness, muzzle, etc. What is your dogs favorite snack? What is your dogs favorite toy/ place/ person? Any favorite words? What is your dog afraid of, so we can avoid?
A typical day
This would depend on the dog! Each dog is special and has their own things they like to enjoy. Mainly I focus on making sure your pet would have lots of energy release, so if this means we are off leash doing zoomies in a fenced in area, or hiking long trails, I will do what is needed for your pet! I would take them to the park if applicable, a nearby body of water, we can make pet crafts together, enrichment ideas for both canines and felines, as well as giving home made treats! There is always time for snuggles, and if you wanted me to work on any specific training you are trying at home, I can do that for you as long as it's manageable.

I would mainly be available on my days off, or after work hours. Am willing to drive straight from work to your home to take care of your pet. Currently, my availability is varying, so just let me know! Sometimes weekends, just let me know and I can see what I can accomodate
