Pet care experience
I worked for PetSmart for the last 7 years and for the last 5 years was a manager for the company. In my own personal experiences I have owned dogs, fish, hamsters, mice, rats, gerbils, chinchillas, and guinea pigs. I currently own a guinea pig and I own one dog and assist on walking my sisters dog as well. My sisters dog is husky and my dog is a bolognese. Unfortunately one of my dogs was recently diagnosed with having seizures, but having the information on how to care for an animal with specific needs is beneficial. With watching and caring for a husky I am experienced in light grooming which includes baths and brushing. Working for PetSmart gave me experience with all dog breeds. Due to having living animals in a pet store I am very comfortable with giving medications to any animals that have daily medications, including injections.

Amanda has frequently dog sat for my husky, and they can be difficult to amuse. She takes great care of my dog, often taking her for hikes and walks and keeping up with entertaining my dog. She has been able to give her medication in the past as well, and feed her, usually more successfully than I am able! She would be a very trustworthy and reliable person to sit, watch or walk anyone’s animal.

The most important things I would need to know would be if your dogs are reactive to other dogs. I can very much put the attention back on me with this information so no one ends up getting hurt. I would also need to know of any medical conditions the dogs may have whether it’s an occasional medical condition or and everyday condition that hinders a dogs ability to do any type of physical activity.
A typical day
I will help stimulate dogs that need extra attention. I love walking casually through neighborhoods for dogs who tend to be more nervous in new places, but I also love adventuring to state parks and all hiking trails with dogs who need long intense walks.
