Pet care experience
We always had dogs at home, and my very first job aged 12 was working weekends at a boarding kennels. I am currently mum to a beautiful Border Collie girl called Polly, having sadly lost my greyhound in February. He was 14 and had several special needs, so I am accustomed to administering medication and catering for special dietary needs.

Our dog was super relaxed when we came to pick him up which I think is the best recommendation :) She is also very responsive, and was sending us a lot of updates daily, which put us at ease during our whole time away from our dog. I have peace in mind when I leave Sonic with Amanda. She is great with dogs and gives him a lot of love. Also I was getting an updates which was great to see how Sonic was doing.

I have a small patio off my bedroom and a larger, sunny terrace at the back with plenty of shade provided for snoozes. To me, dogs are treated as family, so they have total freedom to go where they want within my apartment, including finding a cosy spot on the sofa or cuddling up in bed.

Having a border collie I am very accostomed to the needs of a high energy breed. But also having experience with greyhounds I understand the special requirements of dogs who prefer a quiet life! My greyhound had several medical conditions before he finally crossed Rainbow Bridge at the grand old age of 14, so I am confident with the administration of medication. Having volunteered for several years at the Greyhound Rescue centre near my home in the UK, I am very experienced with this most gentle and sensitive breed. Whatever breed your dog is, just let me know any specific requirements ahead of time and I will do my utmost to make sure your furbaby has all their requirements tended to.
A typical day
There is a lovely, shaded area just a few minutes walk from my home along a pedestrian-only area where doggos can enjoy games with a ball or frisbee. Within 5 minutes we can be on the Collserola which is Polly's favourite walk as she can run in the forest and have a swim in he riera to cool down on the way home. We would be excited to share the fun with our furry visitors. If your dog loves water, then they will love a trip to the dog-friendly beach in El Masnou or Mataró where Polly is quite the celebrity because of her enthusiasm for playing in the sea!

Availability
I am a part-time teacher, so I am out of the house for a maximum of 4 hours Tuesday to Thursday. My leisure time is dedicated to having fun with Polly, including trips to the beach and up the mountains, so you can bet your furbaby will have a fun holiday with us!
