UPDATE: I recently had a baby, and I am currently only doing overnights I can bring my infant to. If you have a mellow pup, or cat I'd be happy to meet them, otherwise I feel that it's best to find another great pet sitter on this site. I am still doing visits - its just got to be with the right pets. My Name is Amanda, and these days it seems I am surrounded by animals everywhere I go, and I LOVE it! I have a special place in my heart for dogs, but the sky is the limit. I have a 96lb doggie at home, named Gypsy. My family also includes 2 cats, and a few fishes. I am not picky in the types of pets I care for, and am always happy to learn something new. I am comfortable giving pets medication and I have a great wealth of knowledge, built up over the 6+ years of caring for other peoples furry family members. I would be VERY interested in meeting you and your pets. Quick updates: I am not currently able to service clients in Maryland or DC. If you are in one of these areas, I apologize for the inconvenience, and urge you to locate a pet care provider closer to your home. I am currently not taking any new clients. I am busy with some personal day-to-day situations. I would be happy to answer questions or make some suggestions if you need to contact me for something. I currently work a day job, and have a few personal- overnight clientele, who typically keep me busy up to 2 weeks each month. I work on a first scheduled- first served basis. If you are at all interested I would be happy to speak further. I have worked for 5+ years at a professional pet sitting and dog walking company. I have experience caring for animals and children for more than 10 years. I have had Pet CPR and First Aid training. I am calm and comfortable around animals which makes them calm and comfortable around me. Why I love dog sitting As a single woman in my 30's I can honestly say I've had a dog around, for my whole life. Usually living in the same house. When I was a toddler, our family dog would fetch fresh diapers for my mother. My dogs have been true friends, and fearless companions to me and I am truly grateful for every new dog I meet. My experience administering medication While I do not have professional training (yet), I am comfortable administering medication to your pets. I have administered ointments, pills and insulin injections to clients pets in the past. If you are comfortable showing me how to do something, I am willing to learn.

Amanda has stayed in our home with our two cats on a few occasions. She could not have taken better care of our furry family members. Since Amanda has been staying with our cats while we are away, they are much calmer when we arrive home. It is clear she spends time with them and takes good care of them by the way they respond to us when we return. The house is always left in an ordering manner and clean. We never have to worry about what we will come home to anymore! I highly recommend Amanda to take care of your furry family members. She has proven she is compassionate, responsible and loving to our babies and I'm sure she will be the same with yours! She really cares!!!!
Amanda was fantastic! Very responsible and proactive. We will definitely use her again.
A wonderful sitter and can handle my 110 pound mastador (lab/mastiff) mix. He is always happy to see amanda and she always goes the extra mile in giving him all the attention he needs. He can be quite needy. I'm very picky on who I leave my dog with so that should tell you something right there. She is knowledgable about using different training ads as well. I'll never go anywhere else.

I have a bumper sticker that says " I like big mutts, and I cannot lie!" and it is 100% true. I wouldn't turn down a sit because a dog is too small, but as my photos show I am super comfortable around the giants. I do not discriminate against any particular breed, I will snuggle with Pits, Poodles, Dachshunds, Mastiffs, and Mutts!
A typical day
Time I'll spend with your dog I love animals, and spend as much time as possible with them. I do have a few midday cat visits sometimes that I may have to leave for during our agreement dates. If this is a concern for you, we can talk about it, and I will be able to provide more specific time frames, or possible reschedule the cat visits. If I can't meet your needs, maybe I can direct you to another pet care pro that can. Extra house-sitting services I am absolutely willing to do additional tasks around the house, within reason. Retrieving mail, watering plants, and taking the trash to the curb, just say the word.
