About Me If you’re anything like me, your dogs are part of the family, and you just want to find a safe, comfortable place for them to stay while you’re out of town! You don’t want to worry about them being locked in a small cage in a boarding facility, having an incident with another dog in an open play area, having them accidentally get lost by kids who forgot to shut the door, or being stressed out and anxious while you’re away. You want peace of mind, knowing that someone is going to take care of your pups the same way that you would. That’s what I’m willing to provide (and what I’m hoping to find in return)! My husband and I have a house in a safe part of Kailua (on the Marine Corps Base) with a small fenced-in yard. (The fence is 5 ft. high.) We have 2 dogs of our own (1 big, 1 small), who we love unconditionally and spoil with treats, toys and fancy food. My dogs are peculiar and require special instructions, so I know how that is, and I’ll be happy to cater to other dogs with special needs and preferences. If you want your dog to get some exercise, I live just around the corner from a dog park and the beach in a neighborhood with sidewalks everywhere, so I can easily take them out to play and get some fresh air. We don’t have loud kids/babies, roommates, cats or other animals in the house, so it’s a pretty calm, peaceful environment for dogs to adjust to. We just have 2 of our own dogs who are both very easygoing and friendly. They are past the puppy stage (9 & 10), so they’re mature and have never had a problem getting along with other dogs. If you’re interested in dog boarding, we can set up a meet-and-greet to see how they interact and be sure they’re okay together first. Please send me a message if you have any questions!

Safety & Environment For dog boarding in my home, I will offer all the comforts of home and follow any specific instructions you give me. Please bring their bed (something they’re familiar with), their food & water bowl, their leash/harness, and their crate if they’re crate trained. If you want, I can text you photo updates so you know how they’re doing while you’re gone. For dog sitting/house sitting in your home, please leave me a key and detailed instructions on their daily routine.

What Else Should You Know? I’m comfortable with all dogs except for breeds who display signs of aggression. Your dog should be warm, friendly, docile and not have a tendency to snap at people or other dogs. I will not dogsit if he/she has any food or toy aggression. I would prefer that your dog(s) are spayed/ neutered too, because it affects their temperament and I don’t want my male dog trying to hump any females who are in heat.
A typical day
A Typical Day Morning: breakfast, water, outdoor potty break. My dogs like to lay in the sun on my patio. Afternoon: nap time Late afternoon/early evening (3:30-5:45): either a walk, a bike ride, a car ride or a trip to the beach to run around (if we don’t have anything out of the ordinary going on that day). Dinner time (6:30-7:45): eat yummy food. Sometimes get a bite of people leftovers. Top it off with a dental bone. Post dinner (8-9): potty break and play time. My big dog gets the “zoomies”- that after-dinner/after dump burst of energy. Must pull out every toy in the basket. My small dog usually just watches him from the couch. Your dog is welcome to join in on the playtime! Or we can segregate them in different rooms so they have separate playtimes. After play time (9-11): wind down for bed. Snuggle while we watch TV and relax. Bed time (11:30 pm-7:30 am)

Availability
Schedule I am usually home during standard work hours on weekdays—either working on my laptop or running around doing housework—and on the weekends, we never go longer than 3-4 hours without stopping back by the house, so your dog would get plenty of attention and potty breaks.
