My name is Amanda! I’ve taken care of dogs of all breeds and sizes since I was a very young girl. My step father was dog breeder for many years and would bring us home pups to care for until they were adopted well into my adulthood aside from our German Shepard & 4 pit bulls of our own. Caring for others who are not able to care for themselves is something I have always found as the most rewarding job as I became a Certified Nursing Assistant back in 2016. You can trust your family member (pet) will be loved and cared for the entire time!

Amanda was able to care for our pup after two sitters cancelled. She communicated well and was willing to go above and beyond to care for our dog.
Amanda seems like a genuinely nice person, and I felt comfortable leaving my dog with her. At the beginning of the stay, I requested she send a photo each day (6 day stay), and she agreed. After a few days of only receiving photos on one of those days, I requested again that she send a photo each day, and she again acknowledged. However, I only got photos one of the last 3 days. I understand she had some personal issues come up that were not typical, but if I can't get just one photo each day, then it doesn't give me confidence that my dog was getting the proper walks she needs.
Friendly, extremely flexible, communicative, and easy to work with! I know Virgil is in great hands and I’m grateful to have found Amanda!

I ask my clients to bring some of their pets favorite toys or blanket, I also like to stick to the pets regular at home schedule so it feels like not too much is changing for them. I want them to feel like they’re at home when they are here as much as possible! I live in an apartment in Logan square with a big fenced in yard for lots of running around! There’s a dog friendly park about a half block up my street to visit during walks.

A typical day
Your dog will get lots of love and snuggles here at “Casa de Cruz” ! We have a big fenced in yard for them to run around and get all that energy out! (Perfect for high energy pups) I will try to stick to whatever feeding and bathroom schedule they usually have at home. Our neighborhood is very dog friendly! While on our walks we can stop by Parson’s Chicken & Fish for some pets and free doggy treats. There’s also a lovely park just up the block from our place.

Availability
I am not currently working, so my full time job would be caring for your pet! 7am-7pm would be the time range for Daycare, however I am willing to accommodate earlier drop off times. Anytime after 8pm will need to be booked as boarding, picking up in the morning. I offer extended stays as well.
