Pet care experience
I work from home with flexible hours. I have a 6 pound Pomeranian called Paxton. He loves playing with other dogs and will share his treats in exchange for kisses. I don’t have any formal dog training experience, but I’ve trained my own dogs to do basic/common commands over the past 20 years and am happy to work on these skills with any dog I take care of. I don’t believe in physical punishment, rather I find that rewarding good behavior is a more effective way to address a problem. I have a dog park area at my apartment that is fenced in for play during the day. I’d love to talk to you more about your dog needs and am happy to meet you and your fur baby before hand to allow them to feel comfortable with me.

I have been friends with Amanda for 4 years. We used to work together too. I have used Amanda to watch my pets every time I have taken a vacation or just went out of town for a few days. I have 3 cats (Turbo, TJ and Khallie) , a dog (JD) and a fish(Mr. Blue). Amanda is amazing with animals. All of my pets love her. She is loving and patient with them. She has had to give my cats medicine on several occasions, with NO problems at all. JD loves to be walked by Amanda and my cats love to be on her lap whenever she is watching them. I would recommend Amanda as a pet sitter for anyone who truly loves their pets, no matter what they may be. I consider Amanda an awesome pet sitter. I never have to worry about the care my animals receive when I am out of town. I go to Colorado very often and stay as long as I can. I have NEVER had any issues with the pet sitting that Amanda does for me. Amanda is a valued friend and the "best" pet sitter that I have ever had. I have gone through several pet sitters before I met Amanda. Now I don't have to look any more!!!! Thank you Amanda!!! Anyone that hires Amanda to watch their pets, will be very glad they did.
Amanda treats your dog like a genuine member of her family! Over the course of a year Amanda cared for my Italian Greyhound for about 25 overnight visits. Every experience was wonderful! She had no problem with Izzy's special diet, arranging plenty of exercise opportunities , and giving her a fun, safe space to play and sleep. She even thoughtfully bought Izzy a toy, knowing she would like it. I could tell Amanda truly loved caring for my dog.

A typical day
We will go to the dog park to run off some energy. We will go for walks throughout the stay (number of walks will depend on length of stay). We will work on basic commands such as sit, stay, lay down, and focus (for this to be consistent and successful, you will need to practice these at home as well). There will definitely be cuddling (as long as your dog is comfortable with it).
