Professional & Experienced Pet Care

Pet care experience

I began working with dogs in daycare and boarding facilities in 2009 at the age of 17, and I never stopped. It is all I have done, because it is all I've ever truly wanted to do. I have experience with all kinds of dogs, and all kinds of dog parents. I am confident that my experience and my desire to grow and learn is just what makes me the best caregiver for you and your fur-babies. I have one year of Veterinary Technology education under my belt, and almost one year of practical experience in a veterinary setting. I pride myself on my ability to educate customers and clients on dog care, health, body language, and behavior. I am also happy to use my own professional connections to bring my clients and other pet care professionals together for anything that I cannot help with myself. I have knowledge and experience in many areas ranging from simple feeding, medicating, and exercise, all the way to parasitology, anatomy and physiology, and behavior. I was also the Assistant Manager of Home Services for a technology based pet care start up.

Amanda was great. She was flexible and sent me photos of my pup, while she was with him. She was very attentive and my pup loved having her stop by!

Amanda is my bestfriend. Of the many reasons that we have remained friends, her top qualities are that she is honest, loyal, and dependable. These qualities make her an excellent person to keep your babies while you're on vacation!

Information Amanda B. would like to know about your pet

Before meeting your dog, I would like to know of any behavior or aggression issues. I would also like a brief overview of any medical issues such as allergies, seizures, pain, or disabilities. If you have done any training, I would also like to know a little about that so that I can be consistent while you are away. My home is best for dogs that play well with others, and are crate trained. This tends to keep everyone safe and comfortable. My dogs are crate trained and play great with others, so I simply ask for the same so that everyone can enjoy their time together and we can all have fun! I have a somewhat structured style which I credit to my years of experience in the pet care field. Consistency and routine are important to dogs, so yours will join right in with mine. They typically pick it up really fast! This makes for a stress-free stay as your dog will learn what to expect at certain times of the day. I can also come to your home for drop-ins to care for cats, fish, birds, reptiles, cage mammals, and farm animals.

A typical day

I can walk wherever your pet loves to walk, or I can take them different routes, and different places as well. New sights and smells are great for mental stimulation in dogs! I am happy to throw a ball or play a game of tug of war, but I also love to give snuggles, kisses, and belly rubs too. You know your pet best! I like to take what you love to do together, and use those same things so that your dog does not lose out on love and fun when you are away. My yard is large, shaded, and fenced securely for safe group play sessions with my sweet pups. I also keep a dog pool with fresh water available for those hot summer days, and a dig pit to dig to their heart's content. Even though I do not allow any dogs on my furniture, I keep lots of comfy beds available for everyone to enjoy, and extra crates, bowls, blankets, and toys, so that all you have to bring are the essentials.
