Cozy Critter Club!

Pet care experience

Most of my pet care experience comes from being a dog mom, but I am also the go-to person for my friends and family who need pet-sitting or emergency drop-in visits for walks or feeding times. I have experience with puppies under 1-year-old and elderly dogs - two things that require additional work and patience! I have also had and cared for cats - I love the stark difference in their personalities. Whether they like to be left alone or want to zoom and play - I am happy to oblige either way! My experience also extends to tortoise, chicken, and bird care!

Amanda is amazing! Remy loves her and I felt so reassured by her clear communication. She manages to be both professional and warm and caring. I hope to have many more visits from her going forward.

Amanda is a kind and gentle soul who has such compassion for all living beings. She’s an incredibly responsible & trustworthy caretaker who loves all animals, big and small. Your pets would be lucky to be cared for by her!

I have known Amanda for several years and used her services to help care for my 4 year old, Golden Retriever, Kaia. Kaia just loves Amanda and is always so pleased to get her walks or butt and belly scratches from Amanda! Amanda is reliable, a good source of information on pet care (she has given me some good tips on grooming) and it’s been obvious from the start, that Amanda is true animal lover. You can be confident your baby will be well cared for with Amanda. Highly recommend.

Rosie is a 2 year old mini bernedoodle. She is a true people lover, and let's just say it...energetic, excitable, reactive.... Amanda is one of Rosie's top 3 people. She is a dog whisperer. She has a gentle way about her that puts Rosie at ease. She is patient with, soft spoken, and sweet to Rosie. Amanda has taken care of Rosie for a week at a time, here and there, since she was 3 months old while we were on vacation, or when I had a stay in the hospital. She has stayed in our home, and also cared for Rosie in her home. She also walks Rosie pretty regularly. Rosie trusts her and feels safe and secure with her. I couldn't recommend Amanda more highly.

Safety, trust & environment

My family and our dog Alfy will warmly welcome your pet into our dog-friendly home. We have a large back porch and yard with a fenced area for sniffing around. If your pet requires extra exercise, we have a quiet neighborhood to walk around in. We have a dog bed in almost every room, space for you to bring a crate, or an area that can be closed off overnight if necessary or requested. There are few places in the house that the dogs don't have access to out of an abundance of safety. Otherwise, they are welcome to make themselves at home! If I care for an animal in your home, I will let you and your pet take the lead!

Information Amanda B. would like to know about your pet

What is their personality like? Do they have separation anxiety or prefer space? Is there any history of aggression/fighting/biting? Do they have any physical or sound triggers? Have they tried running away/jumping fences? Are there any health conditions, medications, dietary needs/restrictions, or allergies I should know about? Are there any specific command words, quirks, or cues? (ex: "leave it" instead of "drop it," barks at door to go potty) How do they behave on a leash? What is their favorite thing?

A typical day

Like dogs, I am an explorer at heart! Our neighborhood offers plenty of smells to smell and farm animals to meet (from a safe distance). We also live near Fort Ritchie and Pen Mar Park—some of my favorite local spots to sniff around. My dog Alfy would love an opponent for a friendly game of tug-of-war or someone to zoom around the house with. Or, if you have a low-energy furry friend, couch surfing can be a fun activity, too!
