Experienced & Fun Cat Sitter
Pet care experience
At this time, I'm focusing exclusively on cat sitting. As a cat owner, I know how challenging it can be to find knowledgeable and reliable care for our feline companions. Growing up I took care of our family pets including large snakes, dogs of all sizes, and several breeds of cats. I am the go-to sitter among my friend group in my home state and, as a new resident of California, I would love to start caring for pets again. I have 3 Persian rescue cats (2 seniors) with advanced medical needs who require daily medicine, special meals, and grooming; therefore, I'm very comfortable helping with the specialized needs of individual pets. I am experienced with the care required for flat faced and long haired cats.
Reviews
Amanda takes great care of our tortoise and cat. They are in excellent health when we return.
Amanda is the best cat sitter I have been found so far (I have tried about 5 cat sitters before via Rover). She is the one truly love and care cats:) She also followed my instructions with respect and offered the help to fix the cat water fountain. I hope more people could find a cat sitter like awesome Amanda!
Many thanks to Amanda for ensuring the wellbeing of our animals while we’re on vacation!
Amanda was a great cat sitter! Was responsive and took great care of our two cats!

Safety, trust & environment
Since my senior cats are a bit grumpy, I'm offering drop-in and housesitting services only. However, I come to each client's house prepared to care for their cat as if it were my own. In order to prevent a cat's escape, I always carry a large purse, or backpack, to place in front of the door each time I enter the home. I make sure to respect the property by removing my shoes, locking all doors/windows for safety, and remaining alert for any unexpected issues (chirping smoke alarms, unplugged fountains/feeders, etc). I keep an open line of communication via messages and photos, so if the cat is behaving strangely or appears sick/injured I will notify you asap. Please remember to keep veterinarian info up to date in Rover in case of an emergency.
Information Amanda B. would like to know about your pet
Before booking I would like to know if your cat is spayed/neutered, if they have any special medical needs, and if they're using flea/tick protection. Please let me know if they have any behavioral quirks that I should be aware of ahead of time. Like, obscure hiding spots, uncommon vocalizations, and random things they hate (so I can avoid stressing them out).
A typical day
When I visit a client's home I get straight to work on the day's checklist: food, fresh water, treats, etc. If I don't see the kitty during the first few minutes, I'll quietly search for them to make sure they're OK. Then I continue with cleaning the litter box, making sure everything is tidy, etc. If the cat is active we will play with toys. If not, I'm more than happy to simply sit with a cat to keep them company. I will brush them, give scritches, and chat with them while listening to podcasts too lol. Honestly, it's up to the cat ?
