Pet care experience
Growing up, we had a golden doodle that I helped to train and took care of daily. When I left for college, I adopted a 5-year old labradoodle who passed away in 2020 after a battle with mammary cancer. She was a rescue and had some quirks so I am very experienced in accommodating various needs. And due to her cancer, I have a lot of experience caring for older and sick dogs - we even have a wagon that we carried her around in so she could still join us on walks when she got tired. Now, we have a 4-year old Weimaraner Poodle mix who we adopted in late 2020. He needed a lot of training due to his separation anxiety so we also have experiencing working with dogs who need a little (or a lot of) extra love. I also helped raise my parents Bernadoodle they got back in 2018. While most of my experience is with large dogs (all of my pets have been 70-95lbs), my fiancé’s family has all dachshunds that we care for and we love welcoming in small dogs as well - as does our Weimardoodle Maxwell! We can’t wait to have your pet join our dog loving family while you’re gone!
Reviews
Amanda is amazing; she took such amazing care of my 13 year old girl, Jasmine. She sent photos and updated me via text during her visits and I felt so at ease. She is usually stand-offish with strangers but not with Amanda - they became fast friends due to Amanda's kind and gentle nature. Thank you Amanda! I would highly recommend her kindness and care to any pet owner!
My fur baby, Meatball, is an English Bulldog and he just adores Amanda! Amanda is one of those people that truly loves dogs, and it made me feel so comfortable knowing that Meatball still got all of the attention and snuggles from her when I had to be away. On another note, Meatball struggles with a sensitive stomach, but Amanda went as far as preparing special meals to best suit his needs when required. I trust and recommend Amanda implicitly, and the only reason I don't still use her as a dog sitter is because unfortunately, we had to move!
Amanda did a fantastic job of caring for my dogs while I was away. One of my dogs is very old and needed a lot of specialized care but Amanda was able to do everything I asked, and more. She kept me updated with messages and pictures of my little fur babies. She was always on time and was always very detailed in any information I asked from her. 10/10. She will definitely be watching my dogs any time I need help.
Amanda is one of the most responsible people I know and is so passionate about dogs. We grew up with our golden doodle Sirius who never chewed a thing when he was a dog and was the poster child for a good boy. When Amanda went off to college her sophomore year there was a dog Franny up for adoption and she had to have her. From her fear of thunderstorms to cealing fans Franny was not a walk in the park, although she loves those, but the way Amanda cared for her and was so patient and loving with her Franny has transformed into a completely different dog than she was before all because of Amanda.
