Trustworthy Pet Care
Pet care experience
I can't wait to meet you and your pet! Animals have always been a part of my life. Growing up, my family raised Rottweilers and German Shepherds. Later, I worked at a no-kill animal shelter to help pay my way through university. I learned so much during my time there. As a result, I have experience working with almost every size and breed of dog and cat. I've also learned how to deal with quite a few personality quirks- including fearful and reactive dogs. I've worked with senior and special needs dogs and cats and can administer medication if needed. I am a Mom to two wonderful kids, a Great Dane, a Maine Coon, and two guinea pigs. Our family occasionally fosters Great Danes for Seattle Purebred Rescue as well. I am insured through Petcare Insurance and backed by the Rover guarantee. Additionally, I earned my Cat and Dog First Aid Certification in 2022.

Service Offered I genuinely care about my clients. Once hired, I will provide the best care possible for your pet. Each visit includes a leashed walk (or playtime), refreshing the water bowl and food dish, medications (if requested), and lots of LOVE. I always send photos and updates. I also bring biodegradable poop bags and treats (if approved by you), so you'll have one less thing to worry about. I understand how difficult it can be to be away from your pet(s). I will help your pup practice leash etiquette and simple commands using positive reinforcement. I am NOT a trainer. However, I love to help my clients come up with creative and positive solutions to common pet problems. It makes me genuinely happy to watch my client pups succeed.
Information Amanda A. would like to know about your pet
I will ask you to confirm that your pet is healthy and up to date on all vaccines (if applicable). Next, I would like to know about your pet's temperament. What are their favorite things to do? What are their favorite rewards (treats, toys, praise, etc...)? *I do NOT accept aggressive dogs (dogs with a previous bite history) as clients.*
A typical day
I customize activities according to your pup's needs and preferences. For example, I currently have a senior client pup who enjoys riding in a stroller. Some dogs enjoy quiet walks with few people around and others love to be the center of attention. (I've been known to drive around a neighborhood ahead of time to plan routes.) Quite a few of my client pups enjoy being challenged mentally as well as getting their exercise in. For those dogs, I might bring along a snuffle mat or boxes for a little sniff work. We might work on basic commands in different environments for a bit of a challenge. I've also taken pups to SniffSpots or hiking, depending on the dog's needs, temperment, and the owner's preferences. (Additional rates may apply.)

Availability
Schedule/Service Area I schedule walks and drop-ins around my kids' school schedule (10 am - 2 pm). I do not offer dog walks on weekends. (However, if my schedule allows, I do *occasionally* make exceptions for current clients.) My current service area is East Renton Highlands, including Lake Kathleen, Briarwood/Maywood, Claremont, and Fairwood (near the Golf & Country Club only). Other areas will be considered; however, an additional fee may apply. I offer a discount for multiple dogs that can be walked at the same time. If your pet has a friend they'd like to come along, let me know.
