Once a pre-vet, remain animal lover

Pet care experience

I still remember being in my living room when I was three years old, playing with animal figurines, and having my parents explain that there was such a thing as a doctor for animals. I did multiple internships and shadowing experiences at clinics, shelters, and a zoo, where I took care of animals, large (giraffes) and small (hamsters), during my time as a pre-vet student. My interests did shift and I am now a Masters in Conservation Medicine student at Tufts University, but my love for animals has always been an integral part of who I am. I am currently working from home (writing my thesis), so my schedule is fairly flexible! I have had pets my entire life and love caring for any and all dogs.

I grew up watching Amalia take care of the animals at home. One of our pets was a dog that wandered into her school and Amalia insisted we take her to a vet and take her home. Anytime one of our dogs got sick we were always at peace of mind that Amalia was around. I know very few people who love animals as much as Amalia does, and she would be not just an excellent dog walker, but great company for any dog.
