Pet care experience
Outside of growing up with dogs and having my own at home, I’ve been pet sitting for 7+ years just by word of mouth. I pride myself on leaving a home as nice and clean as I found it, and leaving your dog just as happy as though you never even left! I love spending time getting to know new pets- each one with their own personality and quirks. I work remotely and I’m around during the day, never gone for more than 4 hours at a time. If your dog is OK with car rides, they will be by my side all day long! I bring my pup Romeo out and about on errands and to see friends. Im happy to send updates and photos on what we get up to throughout our stay- as frequently as you like. Your dog and I will have a great time together, and you can enjoy yourself- worry free!

Alyssa has a wonderful way with dogs. She is patient, loving, kind and responsible. She has stayed over our house on many occasions and has taken great care of our precious dog. He loves being with her and that is a comfort for us. In the past we have had dog sitters that our dog hasn’t warmed up to. He took an instant liking to Alyssa’s warm and loving personality. There is no better feeling than seeing your dog get excited for the dog sitter!! We would highly recommend Alyssa!

I care for pets in my home by providing them with routine. I believe pets crave a routine just like humans operate best with some sort of structure! I also have a private yard partially fenced in, so potty breaks and playtime throughout the day are a non-issue in my home. I only accept crate trained dogs, even if they’re beyond puppy-age. This is not so much for accidents as it is for my own dog’s comfort and safety. Romeo loves his crate (his “house” is what we call it) as it’s his safe space when I’m out, so having a dog here who has his/her own place to feel safe and have familiar smells around makes for a better experience for everyone.

It’s important to know what commands a dog will respond to, their favorite treats, any medications, what times and how often they normally eat, any quirks your dog has either health related or behavioral, favorite toy and if they like car rides.
A typical day
I live within walking distance to the beach, so in the mornings I’m usually walking my dog there for him to get some energy out and this goes for any dogs I’m sitting. If your dog is good in the car, I also like to take them on errands like to the farmers market. I do not go to dog parks.

I work from home, so Rome is basically glued to me all day long. We go on a walk in the morning before I start work and oftentimes at dinner time as well, if it’s not too hot outside!
