Pet care experience
I have grown up with pets my whole life, both dogs and cats (and a rat!), and I enjoy spending time with pets of all shapes and sizes :) Where I am living now, I am not allowed to have a pet and I would love to spend time with some fuzzy friends!

You would be hard pressed to find someone who loves and dotes over dogs as much as Alyssa does. I imagine 90% of her conversations with strangers starts with "do you mind if I pet your dog?" Which is a good reflection that she is not only respecting the owner, but understands that dogs have different training and temperaments. It really doesn't matter the size or the breed, she LOVES loves loves ALL dogs to no end. She's also a very responsible young adult, so I think she'll be an easy and reliable person to work with. Full disclosure: I am a family member, so of course I'm partial, but I wouldn't say it if it weren't true. Heck, in high school she even put a slide deck on why we should buy a dog, and it was a pretty compelling presentation!

I believe that every client (and pet) has different safety and environmental needs, and I find it important to meet at least once before pet-sitting to ensure that I am aware of, and following, any and all rules/guidelines regarding their care. I prefer to be on the more prepared side of things so I’m ready for any situation that may pop up.
Information Alyssa W. would like to know about your pet
Any type of special need such as diet, medications, ointments/creams, etc as well as food/treat preferences and any other ‘rules’ that keep the pet safe (must be on a leash outside, no people food, no extra treats, etc). It’s also important that I know the general behaviors and mannerisms as well so I can tell if something is wrong, and knowing any potential triggers to behaviors (especially for pets with previous trauma) is helpful as well so I can avoid any potential upsetting-the-pup situations.
A typical day
I love playing and cuddling with any pet, but I often find what each animal needs is different so I tend to customize what I do based on who I’m spending time with :)
