Pet care experience
I have dog-sat for my friends multiple times. In all instances, I stayed at their houses and was responsible for feeding, walking, and playing with them. One friend had one small, older dog who loved tug-of-war! The other friend had three dogs, one small and two large. One of the large dogs was very old; he was mostly blind and deaf and couldn't walk well, but he did so good keeping up with us on walks! I have only owned cats, but I love all animals. If there is an animal at a party or family gathering, I will attempt to be its friend!
Reviews
Alyssa did a great job with my little guy! Good communication.
Alyssa did great. My pups were happy and so are we!
Alyssa was great with Doobie. We got pictures, videos and updates daily. We loved that she was able to stay at the house since we spoil our dog. We returned home to a clean house and very happy dog. We will definitely contact Alyssa again for Doobie
Alyssa was wonderful with my two senior cats, Rosalie and Esteban. Clearly an animal person, she communicated updates about their antics as well as mealtimes/ litter pan usage and made sure to pet and play with them daily. I had no question that my cats were well taken care of and would definitely book with her again!

I treat other peoples' pets as if they are my own fur babies. My pets are so important to me and trusting someone else to look after them is difficult. I always let the animal know that I am friendly and approachable by letting them smell me/check me out on their own time. I let them approach me because I don't want them to feel threatened or forced into a relationship they don't want to be in. I find that initiating play is a good way to build trust with pets because it helps you to get to know each other. My cats are indoor, so I'm very cautious about leaving doors open. When I walk dogs, I make sure the leash is on before opening the door. I always follow the owner's instructions for how to take care of their pets. For example, my friend trained their dog to wait until they told him he could go eat his food, so when I watched him, I made sure to do that same process.

My job is remote and part-time, so my hours are flexible. If I am staying at someone's house, I will sometimes need to work from their house in addition to taking care of their pet/s. Since my hours are flexible, I can easily go walk, feed, or play with someone's pet then return to my house to work.
