I’m Alyssa. Growing up, I always had pets. My parents owned my first dog before I was born, and then we had several pups throughout the years after that. When I was in high school, I began volunteering at Operation Kindness, a no-kill animal shelter in Dallas, Texas. In college, it took everything in me not to get a dog. As much as I wanted one, I knew it wouldn't be good for the animal, so I just watched my friends’ dogs and ended up adopting a cat. About eight months ago, my fiancé and I finally adopted a sweet Golden Retriever puppy named Poppie. She is the absolute love of our lives, but she can get pretty lonely sometimes. We began using Rover to set her up on some play dates, but when I started working from home, we decided to watch dogs in our own home. My fiancé, Max, also grew up with canines and will be helping me care for the pets. He is great at running with pups and playing with them all day! We live in The Village Apartments near Carlsbad Village. Our home has a fenced-in backyard with plenty of room to run around and play. Our complex has lots of green space. It’s a wonderful place to take morning walks and get some fresh air. We walk over to the village on days when it’s not too warm outside. We also like venturing over to the dog beach with our pooch. When I'm not pet sitting, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the beach, reading books, and hanging out with friends. I work as a social media manager and graphic designer.
