Lover of all furry & hairless pets!

Pet care experience

I’ve had dogs since I was a very small child and have been able to learn through my own personal animals, as well as the animals of friends and family. I often dog sit my cousins sweet pitty and my roommates adorable cat. I spent almost a year helping out my dear friends with their great dane puppies as well so I can handle big dogs. I am very attentive to each pets needs and am always willing to give them all the love (unless they don’t want that of course)! I’ve always been a lover of animals and constantly want to be around them. I am missing my childhood dog back in Norcal greatly so I’d love to fulfill that by spending some quality time with your pets.

If you are looking for a mature, responsible, loving dog sitter/walker then you will truly be blessed by Alyssa’s loving nature and dedication to your pets. She is always punctual, reliable, and communicates well with pet owners regarding the care of their dogs. She has been a part of our dogs lives for several years and she has ‘assisted in ’raising’ many of them from puppy to adult. Upon returning from vacation, we always find our pets happy and healthy-and everything is neat and tidy.

Alyssa has watched my dogs for me on several occasions and she is one of two people I can confidently trust to care for my dogs. My dogs can be quite a handful as I have a ten year old lab, a one year old male Great Dane, and a seven month old female Great Dane. Needless to say, my dogs are quite the handful. Alyssa is always very attentive and loving in her care of my dogs. From feeding, entertainment, and keeping all my stuff from being destroyed by hyperactive pups; Alyssa has never once shown anything but care and dedication to my dogs.

As long as I’ve known Alyssa she has had and cared for animals of her own. She is really passionate about the topic and therefore is someone I knew I could trust to watch my own animals. There have been many times when I needed someone to watch my animals while I was gone whether it was for two days or two weeks and I always turned to alyssa for help. She is super responsive and great with communication. I was always pleased to come home to happy, taken care of animals and a house that was cleaner than I left it. Some of my animals require specific foods, have mobility restrictions, have different temperaments, etc. and regardless, she is able to make sure everyone is safe and looked after. I can promise you won’t be let down.

Safety, trust & environment

Any pets are always treated with love and care. I take the owners advice and requests very seriously and will always respect their wishes. I make the environment inviting and loving for the animal as well in any setting I am in. Any home I sit in is always treated with the utmost respect. If I am staying overnight I only help myself to what the owner has disclosed and never overstep my boundaries. I try to stay in the home to keep the animal calm as well while their human is away. I’ll do whatever the animal needs to keep that safe environment feeling like home. Within my own home, I help to take care of my roommates cat by giving her love and attention and a safe space to live in by leaving nothing dangerous out in the open. If your animals board with us, I will do whatever is necessary in my living environment to make your animal the most comfy as well. It is no issue to separate my roommates cat as we have an upstairs. There is a great big courtyard of grass in our apartment in case your animal can’t walk very far for potty or just likes time in the grass. We also have a gated in patio to enjoy the sun when it’s out and get some fresh air. There are many parks near by as well that we can play or relax at if the owner allows it! I am a cuddler (if you couldn’t tell by all the pictures of me with sleepy animals) so your animals are welcome in my space! But if that isn’t okay or they don’t like that, it won’t happen and I won’t push any boundaries :) For walks and check ins, I am very respectful of the animal and would never do anything to make them nervous. I am calm and work with them to make them trust me. I keep a shorter lease on walks so I can easily diffuse a situation if needed, but it is always in a relaxed hold. I would never overly tighten any leases or collars. I have been able to hold back an aggressive pitbull before and would do everything in my power to diffuse a situation. Whether that be crossing the street, using my words, or waiting in a safe area for the disturbance to pass.

Information alyssa M. would like to know about your pet

I like to know their temperament, how they are with cats, dogs and humans, if they are reactive on walks. Their general weight, any specific food or walk instructions, and any special things they enjoy! I also would like to know any histories of biting or aggression for my own safety and discretion. I want to give your pet the best care I can and all these are very crucial to that experience.

A typical day

I typically start the day with taking them outside to go potty in the morning. If they like morning walks, I’ll take them on a nice one before it’s too hot outside (or if it’s too cold, I’ll wait until it warms a little). If they get breakfast I’ll feed them when we get home and let them relax a bit. During the day I’ll stimulate them by giving them pets or having them play with any provided toys. I’ll take them potty as needed and if there is a nearby park and the owner allows, I like to take them on a nice trip towards the evening to enjoy the grass! If the dog is good in cars and likes pup cups I’ll take them for a treat as well. They’ll get dinner at the appropriate time and we’ll snuggle together before final potty and bedtime. All of this can be altered of course depending on the animal’s personalities. Cats are very similar, but I do not take them on walks or potty time unless they need assistance.

I am currently working full time during the week, but I am available Friday nights and weekends! I am able to stay spend 24/7 with your animals on the weekends and be attentive to their needs. I like routine, so caring for your animals will be a great fit. I enjoy walking and getting my energy out on my days off, but I also love being a couch potato if that’s what fits. I’m totally open for all personalities and will make their preferences a priority.
