Pet care experience
After moving to the UK from Canada for our graduate studies, my partner and I have really missed having pets around the house. I grew up with dogs, and my partner grew up with both cats and dogs. I have my own dog named Belle at home with my family, who I’ve been taking care of for the past 7 years. I also used to work at PetSmart in Canada, so I have additional experience with training dogs specifically, as well as added knowledge about feeding and animal behaviour. Matt has had several cats and currently a dog named Piper at home with his family. We both have lots of experience walking, feeding, bathing, playing, and of course loving both cats and dogs. We have taken care of our family’s, neighbour’s, and friends’ pets, and would love to take care of yours too!

We booked a trial night for our dog, who's never been left with any he doesn't know before, to see if he would be ok for when we go on a summer holiday. Dropped him off and we took him a quick walk first, Alyssa was very friendly and accommodating, and he had a great overnight stay! Would highly recommend and we've booked again for our summer holiday now!
Alyssa was very welcoming and my cat seemed super relaxed. We got some nice pictures too. I would recommend Alyssa. 🤩

Since my schedule is rather flexible, I am happy to have your pets stay with me anytime and do whatever they would like. If your pet is high energy, we can spend all day doing fun activities. If your pet prefers to just lounge around, they can hang out with me while I get some work done at home. Ultimately, I just want your pet to feel comfortable with us. I can understand how a change in environment can be stressful for some animals, so I will do whatever I can to make the experience enjoyable for them! And as much as we want the pets to feel comfortable with us, we want the owners to feel even more comfortable leaving their pet with us. I will be sure to provide updates and pictures if you would like, always making sure to keep you in the loop of how your pet is doing. We see so many cats and dogs around our building and would love our own, but since we are only here temporarily we wanted to offer our help to other pet owners while we are here!

Please feel free to let me know if your pet has any special preferences or needs and I will be happy to accommodate. It would be great to know if your pet has any tendencies of marking or eating/biting things, so we can put away easily accessible items if needed. As well, we would need to know if your dog has a tendency to bark often, as we want to be as respectful to our neighbours as possible since we are in a flat that is usually very quiet.
A typical day
We have a wonderful flat with lots of room to run and play. Our flat is very tidy and spacious, in a great area, and is a perfect place to have a pet. There is a lovely walking trail outside our building that goes along the Forth and Clyde canal that I would love to take a dog (or even a willing cat) out for a walk. I love being outside and enjoying the nice weather when it comes, so I would love to do that with your pet too!

Aside from the occasional lecture as part of my MSc programme, I have all day to spend with your pets! Matt and I would love having some furry friends to fill our time when we are not in class.
