Pet care experience
Whether it was my own or someone else’s, I’ve been taking care of all sorts of dogs and cats since the age of 10! I love and care for all animals, regardless of size or age. I have experience dealing with animals with anxiety and behavioral issues and am more than willing to meet and greet as many times as it takes to get your pet comfortable! I know how to administer oral or topical medications, and have experience handling more serious medical concerns, like gastrointestinal or neurological issues. While I currently do not have any of my own, I have experience with taking care of cats and love them just as much.

It can be hard to relax on vacation when you're worrying about your cat being lonely or getting into trouble at home, but I felt so reassured knowing he was in Alyssa's capable and compassionate care! From the first meeting, it was really clear that she was interested in getting to know my sweet boy - she asked all the right questions and was so attentive to detail, especially when it came to his medicines (something that I'm especially hesitant to trust to anyone else!). It's evident that Alyssa is not only passionate about animals, but about their people too, and I really appreciated her taking the time to provide me with fun photos and updates during my time away - I don't think my cat missed me at all, and we will definitely be hiring Alyssa again for next year's beach trip!
I have been Alyssa’s roommate for the past 4 years. In that time, we have dog-sat regularly for an elder dog, and she has gone out of her way to help take care of her partner’s sick cat (cleaning up after him, driving him to the vet as needed, just spending time with him). She is responsible and caring for the animals in her life and is able to listen to and follow through on instructions.

I have plenty of experience with cats, including looking after special needs adult cats. At this time I cannot board dogs, but I am available for house sitting, walks, and drop-in visits!

Availability
I’m currently a law student, and so would be available mornings and evenings during the workweek. I typically have more availability during the weekend and can easily study for while looking after your furry friend!
