Offering Peace of Mind
Pet care experience
My whole life has been spent around animals. Growing up we had many pets, and I was taught from a young age how to love and care for them--something I remain passionate about to this day. I worked previously at a veterinary hospital, and in my time spent there I gained a wealth of knowledge in animal medicine and care that has proved invaluable in caring for other's pets. I found my passion behind petsitting when it came time to find a petsitter for my own dog and, unfortunately, didn't have the best experience. One visit with a new sitter even resulted in me rushing my dog to the vet after I picked him up! This made me want to offer my knowledge and experience to pet owners so that they don't ever have to feel the way I did! In short, I have extensive knowledge and experience with dogs and animals of all kinds and am motivated by my love for them. I want to offer my skills to help others have peace of mind when they have to leave their pet. I want every pet to receive the type of care I would want for my own so that you never have to worry if your pet is safe or being cared for properly. If needed, I can administer medicine, including subcutaneous injections, and will send photos and updates as often as requested sharing the fun activities your pet is enjoying while you're away. I look forward to meeting you and your fur-baby! I strive to keep pets as close to their normal routine as possible to reduce stress and ensure they are happy and healthy when their owners return. This includes walks if requested, following their normal feeding and potty break schedule, etc.
Reviews
Alyssa was fantastic! Our dog was happy as a clam when we returned and seemed to have a great time. Alyssa sent lots of pictures and was super responsive while we were away. It means so much to have a trusted sitter that our dog loves too.
Alyssa watched our cats for two weeks during a house sitting booking. One has severe allergies and a special diet, Alyssa asked several thorough questions to ensure she understood what symptoms look like, daily feeding, etc. During the visit, she sent reliable updates and the cutest photos of our kitties. She was quick to ask any questions that came up during the visit and both our cats grew very comfortable with her (she even sent the cutest photos of them both cuddling on her lap at the same time ??). She was also the perfect house sitter and offered to water plants, etc while we were out. Would highly recommend any booking type with Alyssa!!!
Alyssa did a great job watching my dog and two cats for a weekend. She communicated with me every day and sent me lots of pictures. She also left my house very neat and tidy. I would definitely recommend has as a pet sitter and I plan on working with her again!
We couldn't have been more pleased with Alyssa as she stayed for a week with our 12.5 year old English Bulldog who suffers from "doggie dementia". We realized at the interview, she would be excellent and hired her on the spot. She did not disappoint and we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation knowing our four-legged girl was in the best of hands! We can't think of one negative comment.

I do all I can to keep pets in their normal routine to reduce any stress from their people being away. I can crate if needed, and am happy to follow any notes you provide on walking routes, favorite toys, games, etc. to make sure your pet has a great visit and gets the exercise (mental and physical) they need!
Information Alyssa H. would like to know about your pet
It's vital that I know about any aggressive tendencies your pet may have regarding people, other pets, feeding, etc. Valuable information would also include any triggers that upset the dog or cause anxiety, feeding instructions, and their typical bathroom schedule. These and many other questions regarding your pet's care will be discussed at the meet and greet so I can keep your dog comfortable and as close to their normal routine as possible.
A typical day
I do my best to make sure each pet receives the mental and physical stimulation they need. This includes walks, playing fetch inside or outside, dog treat puzzles if approved by the owner, and any other play the owner has with their pet, such as hiding treats for the pet to search out, etc.
