Pet care experience
Hello Paw-rents! My name is Alyssa Hooten, and I live in a small house in a quiet neighborhood on the north side of Evansville. I have three dogs, two littles, Holly and Poppy, and one big boy, Forrest! I also have a cat, Aspen, who acts more like his canine siblings! They all love to play and cuddle and look forward to meeting new friends! My personal experience working with animals started with my first pet when I was 6! Since then I have only ever fallen more in love with working with pets! I have a year of professional work experience as I have worked at and with shelters, rescues, pet daycare facilities, and pet boarding businesses. I have worked as a kennel technician and my responsibilities included feeding, giving medications (via pills, injections, or skin care), cleaning up for the animals (their temporary living spaces and themselves if necessary), and basic training! I am experienced at working with animals of all ages, sizes, and shapes!

Thank you for taking wonderful care of Sadie! We appreciated being able to easily communicate with you. The pictures and updates were reassuring and allowed us to spend some quality time with family, knowing our senior dog was in good hands.
We were first-time users of Rover.com and this was the first time we have left the critters for a vacation…it’s an understatement to say we were nervous!! Alyssa was fantastic with both the pups and with us! Her calm demeanor was so appreciated and she definitely knows her stuff when handling anxious fur babies and their nervous owners…now that we’ve been back a couple of days, I’m pretty sure my female is pouting because she misses Alyssa and her puppies! We will definitely book with Alyssa for future pet-sitting needs and I highly recommend her services for anyone looking for a knowledgeable, loving pet-sitter… she will put your mind at ease and your pups will love her!🐾💙

I have a large yard with two tie-outs that are only used with supervision :) My neighborhood is quiet and safe with plenty of fun places to sniff when on walks! I also live close to the 4-H center which offers more space for playing, walks, and training! I have two little dogs, one bigger pup, and a cat! All of them are super comfortable and friendly with other dogs and cats of any size! I allow my pets on the furniture and free to wander throughout my house as long as I am home! I do have my house sectioned off if you would like to keep your pet separated from mine for any reason :)

I do not breed discriminate. All furry friends are welcome and loved! Please let me know if your dog is potty trained or crate trained in advance! I also need to know if your furry friend is okay with other dogs and cats, in order to keep your pup happy and safe! If your pup requires medication please let me know how and when I need to administer it!
A typical day
I usually keep a pretty flexible schedule with activities so I can adjust to the energy levels of your furry friend! I do however always make sure that I keep a strict schedule on outside time for potty breaks and play time! I have plenty of enrichment toys and am experienced at teaching basic obedience. I also have personal experience in scent/nose work! My neighborhood is quiet with lots of fun sights and sounds to keep your pup interested on walks!

Availability
I am currently working full time and am enrolled full time as a student at an online college. I usually study from home and I work as a preschool teacher every weekday from 9AM-5:30PM. I also keep a strict schedule on getting pets enough time outside to play and to potty throughout the day!
