Fun, energetic, animal loving!

Pet care experience

I have many years of experience taking care of dogs, from my own dog to other people's dogs. I have worked with horses my entire life and with horses comes dogs. I have experience dog sitting, which has in rare cases included medical care or medical emergencies which were all handled appropriately and on the owners terms. My own dog has epilepsy so I am always around to give necessary medication and take care of special needs. I am very organized and disciplined and have a very flexible job so I can be there anytime of the day to take care of the animals! My boyfriend also has a lot of experience taking care of dogs so if I am not around he usually is and he is great with the dogs too! We live right next to a big fenced dog park and our yard is fenced in and completely dog proof. I set my own schedule or work from home so I am flexible and available to watch dogs anytime and let them out whenever they need to go out. I have a fenced in yard and plenty of space to separate dogs during feeding or if they just need a rest. I have an epileptic dog and am able to do any medication.

Dogs stayed with her and we got a phone call from a neighbor of hers as they had gotten out of the house. Luckily they were able to be brought back without incident but the stress surrounding the incident… dang.

Our dog very much enjoyed his stay. He enjoyed the yard and playing with their dog. Alyssa was very responsive and gave daily updates. Would board again

Alyssa watched our 8 year old dog and 6 month old puppy over a long weekend. Our dogs had so much fun over their stay. Our puppy loved to snuggle her dog Ziggy! Alyssa was great about communicating with us and sending us photos of our pups.

Alyssa is mostly very communicative, friendly, and experienced with animals. My dog has severe thunderstorm anxiety and it basically stormed the entire duration of her stay, and Alyssa was very understanding and empathic about that. My main concern is that my dog experienced a laceration on her ear during her stay. Alyssa did notify me when it happened and wrapped it immediately. Unfortunately, she did not send photos at the time of injury (though she claims she did, Rover's time stamps say otherwise). If I had known how bad the laceration was, I would have asked her to take my dog to the vet, but I was under the impression that it was a very minor scratch. Alyssa did clean and disinfect the wound, and it has continued to heal nicely without infection, though my dog will always have a visible notch in her ear. I do wish I'd known that the cut went all the way through the ear flap. Unrelated note: The front yard fence on the property is only about 4 feet high, which people with more athletic pups may wish to know.
