Pet care experience
Welcome! I am a lifelong pet owner. I grew up having multiple dogs and cats in my family, and I currently have an energetic 3-year-old golden retriever myself. I love going outside and getting exercise, so walking (or even running) with dogs is an afternoon well spent for me. I will take great care of your fur baby, abiding by any specific needs that your pet may have. As your sitter/walker, I promise to give your pet the best care while you are away. NOTE ABOUT RATES (5/23): Rover takes an unnecessary 20% of our earnings. I have adjusted my rates as a result of this, so tipping is no longer necessary in order to compensate for this. Additional tipping is of course very appreciated if deemed appropriate! I have a few clients that I work with externally after establishing a trusting relationship, avoiding Rover fees/compensatory tipping. This is an option and rates would be $20 per walk/drop-in and $68 per night. I apologize for any convenience with this and am happy to answer any related questions.

We love Alyssa!! She has stayed at our house with our dog multiple times and does his daily walks as well. She is very attentive to our dog and his needs - he has arthritis and sometimes limps and she is always monitoring his tolerance and adjusts his walks and play if needed. She is very respectful of our house when she stays as well! She is a great communicator and always sends us updates and responds quickly to any requests or questions. We’re so thankful our pup is in good hands when she’s with him!
Petey and Tango loved their visit with Alyssa! She was timely and communicative! Highly recommend her to anyone in need of pet sitting!

While walking my dog or others, I am always attentive to my surroundings. This may include traffic, other animals, or unsafe objects. I frequently check-in with the pup, making sure they can stop to sniff around or relieve themselves. At home, I alway ensure the pet's environment is safe and try to make our time together as enriching as possible. During longer stays, I try to reduce any anxieties while you are away with lots of loving and comfort. Lastly, I will always respect and adhere to your rules/preferences. Should I have any questions, I will not hesitate to ask.

This may include their dietary needs or restrictions, things they enjoy or are wary of. For example, my dog has reactivity issues, so if someone were to look after her, they would need to know not to interact with other dogs or go to dog parks.
A typical day
I usually walk with dogs around the neighborhood or nearby parks. I enjoy enrichment activities such as basic obedience training, fetch, and tug. During longer visits, I am happy to take your pup to special places like Millennium Park to explore.

My weekly availability is approximately: Monday: 11:30-12:30 PM, 5:30 PM/later. Tuesday: all day. Wednesday: 11:30-12:30 PM, 5:30 PM/later. Thursday: all day. Friday: 12:00-2:30 PM, 5:30 PM/later Friday-Sunday availability varies week-by-week. (Updated May 2023)
