I hired Alyssa to care for my senior kitty who needs seizure medication. She made a great impression at the meet-and-greet and communicated well before the drop-ins. But I was surprised to find that Alyssa did not stay for the full 30-minute drop-ins I hired her for. I checked our pet camera at just 15 minutes after the Rover card started, and Alyssa was already gone (she had not ended the Rover card to say she had left yet). When Sophie was still alone at 20 minutes, I messaged Alyssa, who confirmed that she had left but seemed to think it was okay since Sophie had eaten her dinner. I'm not sure if she's just new and didn't understand that visits are supposed to last 30 minutes or how much pet parents rely on those details. I had to actually explain why I wanted her to stay the full time and ask her to please make up the missed time on her next visit. Her updates were also sparse, like a single pic of my cat just sitting at the top of the stairs hoping for attention (which really just tells me Alyssa made an appearance and shows my stressed cat) with a note that she ate her dinner. (litterbox? water? dry food? petting? confirmation that you added her seizure meds?) I was just really surprised. And this made it harder to enjoy my trip, as I was worrying about my cat. Alyssa did apologize and offered a tiny refund. But Sophie was pretty lonely when we got back. I'm just glad this was a short trip and we had our pet camera set up.

Alyssa did a great job with Sherlock. She let me know when she was there and sent me pictures and updates. Sherlock really liked her. I'll definitely use her again!
