Personalized Care for your Pet

Pet care experience

Important note: I work part-time and update my schedule accordingly. Currently, I work around 10 hours per week and should never work past 10:00pm. My shifts are usually 2-4 hours long but can be up to 8 hours on rare occasions. When my shifts are this long, I will mark these days unavailable on my calendar. My calendar is current up to 5/3/24. I've had a family dog since I was born and every year since. Through collective care, this is where I learned the basics of walking, grooming, feeding, etc. I adopted my own dog almost 2 years ago. He is a reactive/dog-aggressive rescue of 9 years with separation anxiety. I have spent hundreds of hours working with him and training him. His reactivity, aggression, and separation anxiety is now manageable, and he is well behaved and heels on walks. Through my experience with my furry companion, I am confident in my knowledge of specialized pet care such as exercise needs, reactivity, medication administration, skin allergies, dietary needs, consistent/daily training, and more. I have now had hundreds of happy clients! I am comfortable with large dogs, senior dogs, and more than happy to discuss any personalized care needed to help your pet succeed. Having a reactive/dog-aggressive dog, I will never bring your pet to my home. Within your own space, I will always ask for the necessary care instructions. I am happy to provide exercise and stimulation in the form of walks, games, play, etc. If you have a yard, I am always careful to assure that gates are closed/secure before allowing your pup outside. Unless otherwise instructed, I will not leave them unsupervised, even in their own backyard. I understand that pets sometimes have accidents, especially when they are nervous their owner is gone. As long as there are supplies available to do so, I have no problem cleaning up after your furry friend. Overall, I would describe my pet care as catered. You let me know your pet's needs and preferences, and I will work with you to assure they are happy and healthy. P.S. I am comfortable with most pets, including cats, birds, reptiles (even snakes), and amphibians. I can't think of any that I wouldn't be comfortable around as long as I was given adequate care info :)

Alyssa is incredible! She went above and beyond just watching our dog but also respected our home! We feel 100% comfortable traveling knowing Alyssa is taking care of our dog! Alyssa is incredibly reliable, and we look forward to having her spend time with our dog in the future!

Alyssa was terrific with Romeo! Took him on great walks and sent pictures every day. She dealt very well with the two mini-disasters we had (expired CO detector that started beeping, then a few days later the oven had a fault). She’s super-responsive and communicative. I would definitely use her again with no hesitation.

I came home to happy and relaxed dogs, and a clean house! Alyssa did a great job of communicating and sending pics. My dogs are leash-reactive, and I was particularly interested in Alyssa’s experience with that in her own dog. She took my dogs on walks, and kept them company. I would definitely hire her again.

Information Alyssa F. would like to know about your pet

I like to know any dietary needs, behavioral concerns, the pet’s preferred forms of interaction (if any), and if you are wanting any specific care instructions. For example, if you’d like to reach a certain amount of exercise per day, any medications to administer, etc.

A typical day

On a typical day with Dozer, I will take him on 3 walks a day for 15 minutes each. Once he has finished his business, we will spend the remainder of the walk training in a low to medium distraction area. About once a week, we will go to high distraction areas to further advance his training. I play tug of war with him, play wrestle, and give him tons of cuddles. I have also taught him a sniff-and-search game we do once a day to develop new skills and provide stimulation. I love to take him to new places with lots of space and vegetation and let him smell the new plant life.

Availability

I work remotely, so as long as I can connect to the internet, I can fit most appointments into my schedule. The only hang up is my own dog. I will have to be able to take a trip back home and spend a few hours with him each day. Because of that, any clients I take on for sitting must be able to be left alone for at least 4 hours, preferably 6 hours.
