pets are family too🐾🤎

Pet care experience

I started dog sitting for my neighbors over their vacations about 15 years ago. I've had 19 total years of experience caring for my own dogs as well, including baths, vet visits, nail clippings and of course play time. I have had great success training puppies, and have effectively taught basic commands even on the first day home. I've cared for pets after major surgery such as a knee replacement with a strict ice/heat/stretch/walk schedule, given medicine and supplements, and stayed on nearly 24 hour watch to care for pets with severe health issues such as major seizures that must be monitored. I've cared for senior pets up to the day they crossed the rainbow bridge. Dogs and cats of all ages and sizes welcome. I can handle just about anything.

Alyssa was awesome! Carley took to her right away and she was able to tolerate Joey the mouthy parrot! Definitely recommend!

Alyssa is great! Eddie was supposed to go to boarding while I was out of town for work but caught the canine flu (+respiratory infection) going around, so I needed to find a sitter last minute who could handle his respiratory meds and his anxious behaviors. Alyssa offered to come in advance to meet us both, making me feel very comfortable. Then, while I was away, she sent regular updates & pictures and was even proactive to ask about picking up a Rx refill. Bonus! She left my house as clean as she found it. Will definitely use her services again :))

My dogs gave her 5 paws up!! This was our first trip away since we got our puppy (1yr old now), and with our older dog having a lot of separation anxiety, travelling is always worrying for us. Booking with Alyssa was a great, easy process and she really showed initiative by coming to meet our pups before we went on vacation so we could show her around the house, yard, and so she got to meet and interact with our dogs there. Alyssa ensured us every step of the way that our buds would be properly taken care of, including plenty of snuggles and treats and play time. We were probably an annoying customer because we changed the dates she was staying with our dogs a few times, but she was very adaptive and completely understoof how hectic life can be sometimes and that plans need to be adjusted- she was a blessing to have in preparation of our trip. She sent us pictures of our dogs every day so we could see that they were having a great time too. She took great care of our house and I think she even left it cleaner than it was when we left! It was an absolutely amazing experience booking with her, she went above and beyond all expectations and really allowed us to enjoy our family vacation without worrying about how our four-legged friends were feeling. When we came home, both of our dogs even knew a new trick she taught them! It's obvious that our dogs loved her as much as she loved them. As long as she's in business, we hope to work with her when we go out of town and our doggos can't come with us. WAY better than any pet resort, and way more affordable too! It's awesome to see people so enthusiastic about our animals and really taking the time and energy to care for our pets, and not just trying to earn a quick dollar. Our pets deserve the best care, and that's what Alyssa gave us. 11/10 would recommend.

I know that pets need extra love and reassurance during times of stress when their humans are gone. I have dealt with skittish pets like those who experience separation anxiety and I make sure to respect their boundaries while still caring for them and meeting their needs. I care for every pet the way I would want mine cared for. Leaving your pet at home during your travels or even just your work day is stressful, and I understand the importance of leaving them in loving hands. I am more than happy to give them all the attention or space they need during the walks or overnight stays, and any specific requests or instructions made by you the owner will be followed to the letter.

Information Alyssa D. would like to know about your pet

If they are reactive on walks or require a special kind of harness or leash, that's always useful info. If they need to be restricted from certain areas or have any behaviors to watch out for, I will be on top of it.

A typical day

I provide dogs with puzzle toys, squeaky toys or tug toys, supervised outside play time and quality snuggle time as well. Whatever they seem most interested in, I'm always down to keep the fun times rolling and make their day a good one.
