Living Life Through Compassion
Pet care experience
I Founded and Directed my very own non profit animal rescue, adoption center, and boarding facility for many years. I also have experience in veterinary medicine, animal law, and in home pet sitting. I've been vegan for 17 years, volunteer at a farm sanctuary, and have dedicated my life to making a positive impact on animals lives. I have a special needs cat who I rescued and bottle fed as a kitten when he only had a 10% chance of survival. He is now 11 years old. I also have a special needs dog who is deaf, has 3 legs, and medical issues. He was deemed unadoptable and spent 4 years living in a shelter.
Reviews
Alyssa (and her fiancee) took wonderful care of Ellie and even tucked her in the way she likes.

Alyssa is an amazing and loving pet caregiver. She recently stayed at my house for one week while I was on vacation. I have four pets, two dogs and two guinea pigs. One of my dogs has special needs. He is an incontinent dog who wears diapers. He was born with a severe disability and does not have control over his back half. Alyssa went above and beyond and even took him for walks in his wagon. She took the dogs outside frequently to play and relax in the sun. Upon arriving home all of my animals were clean, happy and very well taken care of. She provided updates, videos and pictures throughout my vacation. She also took care of things around the house. She is very loving towards all animals and has a great deal of experience with animals. It can be hard to find someone to trust with your home and fur babies while you are away. Alyssa is very trustworthy and a great person. She is great with all dogs including those with special needs. I will definitely be hiring her again. I can tell my dogs loved her so much and had a great time while I was away. I highly recommend Alyssa! She truly went above and beyond.
Alyssa is very caring, kind and devoted to the dogs in her care, I’ve seen her empathy and connection she has with all dogs even those shy of strangers. I would highly recommend her!

Safety, trust & environment
I prefer having written and verbal detailed instructions on the owners expectations and routine. I'm adaptable to individual needs and environments. Due to my background in rescue, boarding, and pet sitting, safety protocols are ingrained so deeply that it's always at the forefront of my mind.

Hiking is my favorite activity! Name a trail in Rhode Island and I've probably done it. I typically hike between 3-9 miles but always adjust the length and difficulty based on a dogs ability. It's equally important to stimulate dogs mentally. Brain games are a daily activity for sure!
