I am a professional groomer and a veterinary technician. I have worked in the pet care industry for 16 years - 16 as a groomer and kennel attendant, 3 years managing the high-volume facility I worked in, 8 years in a veterinary clinic, and 6+ years of formal education in biological sciences and animal health (focused on canine studies). Throughout all of this, I have been training dogs I work with to have basic manners, and also trained my personal dogs to pass their evaluations for Canine Good Citizen/Advanced/Urban and Therapy Dog International. I also enjoy training for basic agility and doing silly tricks. This mental stimulation is serious enrichment! I am passionate about what I do and providing enrichment for our pets. I love to learn, I love to interact, and I love to cater to each animal's individual needs. Having the background that I do, I'm lucky enough to be able to assess a situation and break it down from the dog's perspective. I personally own high-energy dogs and I know that getting them the exercise they need is extremely important, not just for their happiness, but for the peace in my home. Dogs who need physical and mental stimulation can act out - they may become destructive in the house, reactive/overstimulated when played with, or aggressive with new dogs in an exciting environment. It's amazing what the right amount of enrichment can do for your dogs and I'd like to help with that.
