Growing up, I had and cared for two family dogs. My experience with dogs included all the regular dog owner responsibilities. I am familiar with caring for old, injured, and post-op dogs, as my dog Romeo had a number of surgeries for back issues. My other dog, Belle could get anxious and liked to be comforted during car rides or when hearing loud sounds like airplanes or the vacuum, so I understand your dogs needs may vary just like mine did! I enjoy connecting with animals by figuring out their individual needs and how they communicate with us. I recently adopted an adult dog who was very scared and timid when I got her. In our time together, she has rehabilitated and now shows playfulness and introduces herself to anyone she can! Pets are valuable family members and should be treated as such!
