Pet care experience
I have raised dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters and even a beautiful conure bird. My husband and I have been sitting since 2019. I was lucky enough to discover my passion while working at the Lynchburg Humane Society as an adoption counselor in 2018. There I learned how to handle animals of all shapes and sizes! In the years following, I have completed a basic obedience training course through Penn Foster Career College, as well as engaged in an internship program with Dog Days Pet Services inc. under certified behaviorist Ron Herbert. I’ve dedicated my career to helping other people rebuild their relationship with their best friends. Sitting has been a wonderful way for me to connect with others while gaining hands on experience with so many different pets. Also I mean, who can resist a job where you get to play with tons of animals all day? It’s a dream!

Alliyah is an amazing dog sitter and we had a great experience last time with her so she was a no brainer when looking for someone to board our dogs for the holiday weekend. She was easy to communicate with and was flexible with a change in pick up. We love the fact that she has a fenced in backyard and pets of her own to socialize with our two dogs. Will book again in the future!

I own two, four year old dogs at home. I rescued them both when they were about 4 weeks old. I bottle fed one of the puppies and aided the delivery of the other puppy. I have potty trained, socialized, and taught basic obedience to both dogs throughout the last four years. We also have overcome a handful of medical issues. I do have an infant son in the home as of March of 2022, at this time he will be my partner in crime for drop-in visits/walks throughout the daytime on weekdays!

I would like to be aware of any medical issues as well as how the dog handles interactions between new people and other dogs. It is very important that dogs in my care work well with children. Any personality information such as favorite games/treats is also very appreciated!
A typical day
My daily activities mostly revolve around dogs! I personally take my dogs on walks 2 times a day if possible and frequently visit the Lynchburg dog park. Our favorite walk spots are Blackwater Creek trails and Percivals Island in downtown Lynchburg.

Availability
I spend the majority of my free time studying dog behavior and training as well as spending time with my two pups at home! I would love to gain more hands on experience while also helping others. If I leave the home, it is typically for no more than 4 hours a day.
