Experienced and Caring Petsitter
Pet care experience
I have been working with animals since I was 18 years old. I discovered my passion while working at the animal shelter while in college. Since then, I have gone on to get a degree in animal training and behavior. I have worked with exotic animals in a zoo setting, a prestigious dog training company, and the animal shelter. All the while I have been petsitting for private clients. I have been at this for 12 years now and can't think of a more rewarding job.
Reviews
Allison was great to work with. We have an older dog that is very skittish, Allison was calm and gentle and let Luna come to her when she was ready. Both dogs seemed very relaxed and as evidenced by the video Allison sent us had a howling good time. We’re ready to book her for our next trip.
Allison did an excellent job caring for our German Shepherd and 2 cats while we were away. She arrived and departed the house when she said she would, which meant she was with our pets a whole bunch?. She took the dog for walks and sent us photos and video. I would highly recommend Allison if you're nervous about leaving your fur babies. A great first experience with Rover.com.
Allison stayed in our home to sit with our critters for 3 nights. My dogs have never been so calm upon returning from a trip. I think they were disappointed when we walked in the door instead of Allison! She's great with animals and asked really good questions.
Highly recommend!! So glad to have found someone I can leave the dogs with and never worry!

When you request a petsitting stay please tell me a little about your pup! Does he/she have any special needs? Medications? Quirks? Any behavior challenges? It's always nice to know what you're walking into, as a petsitter, so as not to make a poor first impression on the pets under your care.

My dogsitting style... I've been doing this a long time. Two of the biggest lessons I've learned are: 1. Always bring treats. 2. Let the dog come to you. When meeting a new dog I have to read their body language and behavior. Let them come to me. It's almost like the doggy golden rule: Greet them how they like to be greeted. And as for the treats, well, they always help make a good first impression! Once the first meet is out of the way I try to keep to the dog's routine. The best part of having an in home petsitter is the stress reduction on your dog. They get to stay in their own home and stick as closely to their usual routine as possible. And as any dog owner knows, routine makes for a happy, healthier dog.
