Caring, Calming, Considerate Sitter
Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Ellison (Ellie for short) and I’m an experienced pet-sitter/house-sitter. I have many years under my belt as a dog-sitter, though I’ve cared for many other kinds of pets over the years. I’ve been trusted to care for dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and personalities while their parents are away from home . I have experience with a variety of behavioral and medical issues, and am particularly sensitive to the animals’ emotional needs. I love establishing loyal repeat client relationships to build a better relationship with the animals, so your vacations can be fun for your pets back home too! I’m a relaxed and comforting caretaker; love to take extra time for play and explorative walks; and I just so happen to be an expert cuddler! Housesitting: I focus my services on overnight stays in my clients’ homes (usually for a weekend or longer), particularly those who travel regularly, and I cherish the long-term bonds I’ve been able to build this way, with pets and their parents alike. It’s important to maintain a sense of normalcy for pets who are being sat in their own environment, so I do my best to stick to your routine, follow instructions carefully, and make sure that the pets are getting the personal time they need to feel comfortable without you home. I tend to be a homebody when I’m sitting pets, so my clients always get plenty of extra quality time cuddling on the couch on my watch. For extended stays, I like to keep homes tidy and always change the beddings before I leave, take out trash, collect the mail, or whatever else you might need! Happy to be helpful while I’m in your home. I keep my phone on me at all times, so you can always text or call with last-minute requests or just to check in. 🐶🐱 Drop-in Visits: Typical visits are either 30 minutes or 1 hour, but I also offer extended drop-ins (1hr+); this is a good option for pups visiting from out of town who need a friend to hang out with them at their hotel/Airbnb for a few hours. No matter how long I stay, your dog will get the same level of special attention and scratches! Dog Walking: I respect every pup’s routine and limitations, keep a distance from other animals and their folks, and maintain a good pace in our walks or jogs, always allowing for plenty of potty breaks and sniffing fascinating things. (( As I focus on extended visits, I offer walk-only visits only to those who live anywhere in the immediate vicinity of Forsyth Park, within walking distance of my own home; these types of visits tend to be rarer arrangements for me, due to my other full-time professional obligations, but I’m open to discussing making some special arrangements with neighbors in the area. Sometimes serendipity smiles! 🐾😉 ))
Reviews
Ellie was absolutely great. She kept in contact and was spectacular with my dog. I will definitely use Ellie in the future.
Allison is great! She’s very responsive, kind and has such a love of animals. Our dogs adored her!!
FANTASTIC sitter who truly went above and beyond for us and our dogs. She was prompt, punctual, accommodating, and thorough. She was also flexible working through our schedule on our departure/return date. We were well beyond pleased and would be so lucky to have her sit for us again. She cared for our dogs, and our house well beyond our expectations. We can not thank her, or recommend her enough! The Savannah area is lucky to have her here!
(8 days cat sitting during Thanksgiving break) Allison is a wonderful cat sitter and she clearly loves and understand cats and likes to spend time with them (which is crucial). My cat Palmiro is very social and doesn't like to be alone but this time around he looked much happier and calmer when I came back. I will definitely keep in mind Allison for future cat visits when I am out of town in the future!

I follow instructions carefully and recognize each individual dog’s needs for different rules. I can administer pills and ointments, follow specific food schedules and portion regulations, respect dietary restrictions, crate dogs, help them study their tricks and reinforce good behavior, if they have any training “homework” to practice.
Information Allison S. would like to know about your pet
I never sit for an animal without first meeting them in their home with their family present; we will always arrange at least one meet and greet before any booking. I always ask for a handful of their daily vocabulary words when we first meet, so I can use their command words/gestures in the way most familiar to them and support their studies. If an animal has a specific routine, having it written down is a tremendous help to me, particularly those who require medicine administered. I try to be extra conscientious and detailed asking about animals’ anxious behaviors, as anxiety can sometimes drastically affect an animal’s behavior in their human’s absence. I will ask a lot of questions about triggers, comfort levels, ways the animal soothes themself, and what their history with past sitters has been like. I may ask some seemingly hyper-specific questions, but trust it’s a question earned by experience…! I have sat for multiple dogs who were made aggressively uncomfortable by being near men in HATS; but take the hat off, no problem…! I don’t want to discover this quirk on a walk in the park, though. Animals are peculiar and particular in their ways, and as mysterious as they may seem to us humans, I want to be sensitive to their many preferences and “opinions” so that nothing goes wrong on my watch.

We'll live it up! Every dog is different and I'll accommodate their ideas of fun. Dog parks, nature trails, laps around a lake, sniffing around downtown, a serious match of tug of war, or just cozying on the couch with a couple extra treats. You let me know their limitations and favorite places, toys, and tickle spots, and we'll find a safe way to spice things up.

Though I do work a full-time job downtown, I do my best to accommodate my pets’ schedules while staying in their home. I don’t dawdle after work, stay home all night with them, and pull every string I can if proximity allows me to visit the home on my lunch break. My schedules vary but I should have them well ahead of time before we book our visits, so there will be no surprises. I tend to have off consistently every Monday and Tuesday, and there’s nothing more I’d like to do on my day off than dog-sit! 🥰
