Pet care experience
I have had dogs since I was born and really just can't live without them! I have also had two wonderful cats along the way. I'm currently transitioning to making a career of dog training and it's been such a wonderful experience already. Below are some details about my formal pet care education to date: Dog Trainer Professional Program - Karen Pryor Academy - Worldwide (December 2023 - May 2024) • After completing the KPA Dog Trainer Professional course I will be a KPA Certified Dog Trainer, specializing in positive reinforcement and clicker training methods. BC SPCA - Vernon & Kelowna, BC (November 2016 - January 2017 / January 2024 - current) • Volunteered at the SPCA Vernon branch as a volunteer dog walker in the past and currently volunteering at the Kelowna branch for dog walking as well as dog care & wellness shifts. • Recently completed the Fear Free Shelter Program and received my Certificate of Completion in January 2024. Dog Emotion & Cognition Course - Duke University (Online via Coursera) (November 2021) • Instructed by Brain Hare, associate professor of evolutionary anthropology & member of the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience. I gained valuable insights into how dogs experience their world as explained by modern science.

I need a lot more space to write a full testimonial for Allison . She is an incredibly smart, kind, caring, strong, determined young woman . Amazing work endurance , learns things fast. LOVES animals...especially dogs !! She has looked after our dogs over the years when we have gone on vacation. The dogs loved having Auntie Allison come babysit !! haha Very focused. Goal orientated.. When she sets her mind to do something it happens. I have no doubt that in time Allison will be one of the best dog trainers anywhere.. Personality wise , everybody LOVES Allison !! She knows how to deal with people and she is an absolute sweetheart !! I only speak the truth and I wouldn't lie because I am her Dad !!
Allison is the most heart felt and honest woman I have ever met. Animals have always been her passion. She loves animals and they love her right back! She brings the perfect amount of energy for any pet she meets but also knows animal social cues and when to ease a pets energy back. She is amazing!

I respect pet guardian's knowledge of their pet's well being. I absolutely believe in positive reinforcement methods and that each individual animal has its own boundaries. My dog Timber loves to meet other dogs of all shapes and sizes and is happy to come along for walks if your dog wants company or a play date!

I have had dogs all my life of various mixes, from pups to the sweet old ones. I am comfortable administering basic oral medication with food if needed.
A typical day
I love to take the time to walk dogs that love to stop and smell the roses (etc.), and stimulate their brains. I am comfortable in off-leash parks, if it is safe for all dogs involved. Whatever is best for their enjoyment.

I'm currently working and studying part-time and both are very flexible. I am an early riser so I'm also very happy to do early mornings, but any time works for me!
