Pet care experience
I have owned and loved dogs my entire life, and also taken care of them for that long. Whether it's for my own dog or friends or neighbors, I love to hang out with all pups and make sure they are taken care of and happy. I also have experience with: guinea pigs, rabbits and fish. I am also a fan of cats and have sat many cats, though something to note is I am slightly allergic- I can (and will) cuddle them, they just cannot share my bed unfortunately. I am the person who if I disappear suddenly at a brewery or on a walk, my friends know to look for me somewhere petting a dog. They are the best things in the world and i would be honored to get to take care of your best friend while you're away. I also LOVE to photograph your pets! Allison did a terrific job for us on a lengthy dog-sit for our two pups. She was extremely conscientious, went above and beyond for our older shepherd who needed vet visits while we were out of town, and took terrific pics to keep us informed.
Allison was wonderful! She house sat for me and kept our two energetic kitties happy and fed. She messaged me almost daily with updates and photos (and quality ones at that, I saved most of them!). Highly recommend her!

I am comfortable with crating your dog, or letting them roam freely. I will make sure whatever your dog needs, they get! I will abide by your house rules- if you do not want your pup on the furniture, rest assured I will make sure they stay off, but if they have a favorite spot on the couch, rest assured I will always let them have it! I have experience sitting young dogs (under 1 year) all the way to older dogs (13+) and am able and willing to give medications. I have a few regular dogs with special needs, including: copper liver storage disease, dogs on heart medication, and senior pups.

Please let me know about any special needs your dog might have, including temperament with humans and other dogs, any allergies or dietary restrictions and their attention needs. Please also let me know how many times a day your dog typically poops! Every dog is different and I like to know a metric so I can assess if a behavior change is significant enough to let you know about. It is worth noting that I do not currently have a car, and get places on a scooter. I do have many friends in and around Reston though, should an emergency arise!
A typical day
I am happy to take care of your dog in whatever way makes them most comfortable! I am happy to stay in and hang out and take secluded walks with dogs who are not the most social (my last dog was not dog friendly, so I am definitely familiar with and respectful of that!), but am also happy to take your dog on walks and play dates if they are of the more social variety! I am wary of dog parks in general and prefer more controlled socialization, but if your dog is crazy for the local dog park I will take them! Whatever I do with your dog, I will never take them anywhere out of the ordinary without your express permission, and will always keep you updated with pictures of our adventures!

Availability
I work from home, so I am available to hang out with your pet all day! I do have a part time job at Lake Anne Brew House, but it is very flexible and I do not work every weekend. When I do work, it is typically Saturdays, generally from 9 to 4. That being said, I do have a social life, so I do go out some evenings. However, I take every pet's personal care needs into account when I am planning outings whilst on a sit. Plus, I love hanging out with them! I am also more than happy to bring your pup along if they are a fan of social settings and the setting/weather is appropriate.
