Pet care experience
Since I was a young child, my family has always had dogs in our household. I have experience owning dogs of all sizes and have looked after a variety of dogs and cats for friends and family. Over the years, I’ve walked and played with bouncy young toy breeds, mellow old coonhounds, and high-energy labs. I am a zoology student at UW Madison, a veterinary assistant, and am looking to pursue a career as a veterinarian- so needless to say, I have a sincere passion for animals. I have also personally owned and cared for numerous other pets (anything from snakes and lizards, to guinea pigs and horses), so if you have any other animal companions that need attention during a drop-in visit, I am more than happy to show them some love too! If your pet has any special needs/ requirements, I’m ready and willing to learn exactly how to take the best possible care of them!

I think it’s important to interact with dogs in a loving and compassionate way while still maintaining control of the situation, especially when it comes to larger or high energy dogs. I also believe in using positive reinforcement to promote any good behaviors when it comes to training and play, never punishment of any sort.

Before taking care of your pet, please fill me in on any specific behaviors or unique characteristics they may have so I can better understand and handle them. I have handled reactive dogs with some behavioral issues so I feel capable of working with dogs of that nature as well. I am willing to care for any and all breeds, big or small!
A typical day
I grew up here in Madison and I’m pretty familiar with most areas of the city, so I know lots of great spots to walk! Depending on your dogs needs, I will dedicate plenty of time to outside play/walks and to inside play or cuddle time!

I am a full time student at UW with 2 part time jobs, so my availability for drop-in visits and walking falls in between my classes and working!
