Pet care experience
My first ever job was a dog walker. I was 14 and had to walk the neighbor's dog after school. I've since grown up, and become a nurse-- but on my off days I enjoy walking my dog, Gus, and taking him to the dog park, Eden Park, and dog friendly patio bars! Your pup is welcome to tag along with us, as long as he/she is friendly with other dogs! Gus has never met a dog he didn't like :) We can also pet sit (in your home or ours) any friendly dogs or cats that wouldn't mind being a friend of Gus's! I also have a guinea pig and know how hard it is to find pet care for caged animals. I am happy to drop in and help care for any (small) creature you may have! Reptiles, rodents and insects included.

Safety, trust & environment
I have an outdoor patio space (with potty spot) and a spare bedroom for your dog or cat, with plenty of access to the rest of the house. I even have a small friendly dog and two very friendly cats who will keep your pet company, while also leaving your pet a "safe zone" as the spare bedroom. I live in Mt Adams as well, so Gus and I walk through Eden Park 2x a day and go to Fido Field dog park as often as we can!

Information Allison C. would like to know about your pet
I prefer smaller sized dogs that will get along with my 15lb terrier, Gus. However, if you would prefer that your dog and mine to not be walked together, please let me know in advance so I can plan accordingly.
A typical day
I'm a lover of dog (and cat) training! If there is something you would like me to work on with your pet, I can certainly accommodate. Typically, we start the day out on a 30 min or so walk around the neighborhood of Mt. Adams. Then it's breakfast, followed by puppy nap time. Mid morning/early afternoon lends another trip outside for a potty break walk, followed by a food or scent puzzle, like a frozen PB Kong or one of our Dog Puzzles we have at home. I find that dogs get tired out more easily when they are challenged to work for their food! If there was any training you would like me to work on, mid afternoon would be our window of opportunity! After an afternoon potty break and rest (in crate or other low stim environment), we go for a longer evening stroll around the park to play some fetch, or take a trip to the dog park! Finally, dinner time, rest, and another potty break before settling in for the night. Your dog will walk for AT LEAST 60 mins in a given day with me, with ample times for rest, potty and play!

Availability
My nursing schedule can be sporadic, and I usually work nights. On days I'm off, I can let your pet out at 7a/11/3pm during the weekdays or as often as needed. I can also do "later than usual" visits or walks, especially for my fellow night shifters who need pet care at odd hours.
