Pet care experience
I love dogs! I will care for your dog like it's my own & it will probably never be left alone here. All my life I've loved & cared for my own dogs, & many friends' dogs. *We only host 1 dog at a time, so your dog will get all the attention. We don't have a dog of our own currently. *Real active dogs may prefer to stay where other dogs will be available to play with. But, if your dog is moderately active to downright slow, we'll be a good fit. Also, I have experience with (& a soft spot) for senior dogs.

Allison and Cliff were absolutely fantastic with our pup. They took such great care of her and we could tell she had an excellent time with them. Allison provided us with lots of pictures and videos and kept us updated throughout the day. We couldn’t have asked for a better couple to watch over our pup for us. Your dog will hangout with us like a family member. We have a large fenced backyard. Since we sometimes have deer, etc, in our neighborhood, if your dog is really small I will always accompany your dog outside just to be extremely cautious. (Our bedroom is up 8 stairs. There are 2 stairs to the backyard area.) **We have vinyl flooring in our main living area, so we do ask that the paw nails aren't terribly long.

*I do require a short Meet & Greet. Let me be aware of any quirks or fears your dog has. I will assume he/she is well behaved and non-aggressive. I used to leave my dog's sitter a full page of notes! I welcome instructions-- especially about food & treats. *For boarding, drop-off after 7:30 a.m. & pick-up before 8 p.m. is preferred. *For only Daytime Care, the day rate is for time between 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
A typical day
You can tell me what your dog enjoys -- fetching a ball, taking daily walk(s), being cuddled, or whatever --- and I'll enjoy making your doggy happy. Your dog will likely never be left all alone. Since your dog will be the only dog staying with us, he/she will be the focus of my attention.

Availability
I am a retired professor & my husband works remotely from home. We have turned into homebodies somewhat, but we do like to take walks or hangout outside. If I need to run to the store or something, my husband will usually be home & enjoy giving your pup the attention he/she needs. So, your dog will probably always have human company. I used to use Rover.com sitters for my late Labrador (who passed away about 4 years ago), so I know what it is like to worry about & miss your dog. We've had a hole in our hearts since our dog "crossed the rainbow bridge," so we will love spending time with your doggy. My rate is on the high end b/c we will only have 1 dog at a time (unless you have 2 dogs.) We will nurture, play, walk, cuddle and send you pictures! Your dog can sleep in our bedroom. Besides his/her usual food & treats, you are welcome to bring a dog bed, favorite toys, stuffed animals, a special blanket or whatever would make the stay comfortable. I also keep some toys & small milk bones on hand.
