Hi! I’m Alli and I love critters!
Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Alli S. I have a husband named Matthew Schulz and a beautiful daughter named Maggie. My husband is a marine, and we are stationed on MCAS Cherry Point. I am 20 years old. I graduated high school when I was nineteen years old. Some of my hobbies include painting, playing guitar, camping, and spending lots of time outdoors. I have always enjoyed the company of all sort of animals, from snakes, frogs, and lizards to goats, cows, and chickens. And of course, cats and dogs. I have experience with almost every type of farm animal and know lots of fun facts about wild animals. All that aside, I just have a fascination and love for all animals! I have grown up around critters my entire life, even to this day. I have two cats named Hades and Zeus, who love to get into trouble! I am trustworthy, responsible and skilled when it comes to the care of pets.
Reviews
Ludo loves going to visit Alli. He happily runs to see her, and loves hanging out with her family.
Alli agreed to watch Winnie the day before on a holiday weekend! We were late for drop-off and she was flexible. Ali introduced me to her family and allowed me to see where Winnie would be staying. She was communicative and sent photos throughout her visit. If I visit again, I'll call Alli.
Like one of the last reviews said…you get what you pay for. Rover is investigating Titans stay with Alli and is refunding 50% of the stay and possibly more due to the experience and lack of hospitality. Alli is definitely not equipped to handle giant breed dogs. Our pup is a Great Dane and just turned a year old. The meet and greet went great. During this time I disclosed to her (and it is in my care instructions) that we are still working on manners and due to his size he can reach things on the kitchen counter, may chew on things in the floor, knocks things over with his tail and tends to be nervous around some men (barks and may growl), and has food aggression with other pets so feed him separately. I would like to reiterate that he is not aggressive to people. She has a very young child but Titan was gentle and good with her while we were in her home. Also, her husband came home during that time and Titan did growl and bark at him. Once he sat down and petted him he did stop. The meet and greet was over two hours long. Alli agreed to watch him and even for peace of mind I offered to have her watch him one day before our trip to make sure it was a good fit but she never reached back out to me so I figured we were good to go. Our trip was a week long and eight hours away. Just about everyday she complained about something…Titan knocked things over with his tail, chewed on one of her daughters toys, got in the trash, ate something off the counter, took a piece of food from her daughters plate, barked at her husband, whined when she isolated him to the kitchen, and had a couple accidents in the house. She even decided to discipline him with spraying water in his face when she didn’t like what he was doing without asking me. I advised her again that Titan is a very sensitive dog dog and could have an upset stomach due to being in an unfamiliar place and nervous. He is fully potty trained. She even told me she could tell he was potty trained but he had an upset stomach (prob from getting in the trash and eating food off of the counter). I would also like to add that I am a Rover sitter with 5 stars and very familiar with watching dogs. This experience was unlike no other. About halfway through the trip I finally asked her if we needed to try to find someone to come get him. She was adamant that she was fine and she would like to still watch him so I decided to proceed. The morning before it was time for us to come home I checked in on Titan. She said he was doing great and resent pics that didn’t come through the day before. Approx one hour later she sent a message that said we needed to come get him right now. I asked what happened in an hour for her to feel this way. She said she will not tell me the negative bc I did not want to hear it. This is not true…I told her she didn’t need to tell me when he pooped in the house or knocked something off the table with his tail. I only want to know the important things…like if he bit someone or something like that and updates of him being cared for. She said it was a combination of everything she had complained about and that she didn’t feel comfortable in her home. I explained to her there was no one that day that I could have come get him but she still wanted him picked up. So we stopped our vacation and drove back to our cabin to pack up and leave. We were not supposed to leave until the next day. My son was devastated and we were upset as well but happy to get Titan back because we could tell he had not been cared for as he should have been. As a dog sitter it is important to handle every situation appropriately. After talking to the Rover safety team they told me that if she didn’t feel comfortable watching Titan that she should have reached out to them so that they could find someone that may be a better fit. They even suggested that she change her profile to exclude large and giant breed dogs because house accidents can happen and should be expected when animals are in an unfamiliar place. Additionally, Alli lives in base housing and is concerned with pets on the carpet because she has to pay to replace it if anything happens to it. When dropping Titan off with her she told me that she had to put her two cats outdoors because they were spraying in the house yet Titan is the cause for her needing new carpet from a few accidents? I know this is a long review but I care for all pets and I do not wish to for anyone to be treated as my family was.
Alli was great. Took pictures of Harley couch surfing (something he is not allowed to do in our home:)). She communicated well, met us at a location to do the exchange. Highly recommend her! Danny

I am not picky about the dogs that I watch! Dogs of most breeds, size, color, or shape are allowed in my home. I have a couple rules that I require to be followed. The first is that he/she must be compatible with other dogs and not aggressive towards cats and children. The second is that your dogs must be COMPLETELY housebroken. I will take puppies under a year, but I have carpet, and would like it to not be stained. The third rule is that I cannot take pit bulls, staffordshire terriers, Rottweilers, wolf hybrids or any mix of these dogs. I live on base and it is federal law that I keep these dogs out of my home. And finally, please just keep communication open. I highly dislike dishonest communication, and being ignored. Please be reminded that your dogs are your responsibility, and it’s important to be able to answer important questions that I may have.
A typical day
My neighborhood is very safe. I live in the Binder Oaks community on the military base. There is a dog park about quarter mile from my houses where I will take all dogs twice a day. I will buy lots of dog toys for all the dogs that are in my care. The toys will stay in my possession so I can reuse them.
