Ruff! Meow! Who you gonna call? Me!
Pet care experience
Since Day 1, I've been exposed to dogs of various types: small, medium, big, lazy, energetic, cuddly, mean. Ever since, I've had a very connecting relationship with every dog I've met. My parents would often tell me that when I was younger, my neighbor's dog loved being around me but growled when other people went by. Crazy story, but on a New Year's night a dog was barking at my door nonstop and when I checked, it was actually my aunt's dog that lives miles away. Surprise, surprise he found my house and slept in my room that night. The next morning, my aunt and uncle were actually looking for him the night before and told me that he was scared of fireworks. For a dog who rarely visits my house, he has a powerful scent. You can say that I'm a dog-whisperer (*Wink Wink*)--maybe? I have a few dogs myself, including a 14-year-old Maltese, 2-year-old Norfolk Terrier, and an 8-year-old mixed Labrador. I've been with them since the year they were born, and I have had many more dogs in the past. Not only have I had to care for my current dogs, I've also cared for my other family's dogs whenever they were away on vacation. It's a very fun and wild experience to care for different types of dogs with different personalities. Some dogs are more challenging to care for than others but that's the fun is discovering different types of dogs. For instance, I volunteered at my local pet shop helping puppies and dogs go up for adoption, and I handled a huge, beautiful dog (about 65 pounds) who walked me inside, outside, and around the building. She was energetic and fun to run around with, and she was very strong. Nonetheless, I've managed to follow her around and keep her under control. Yea, I'm strong too. I also have experience with cats for about 5-6 years and I have two: Domestic short-hair and British long-hair. To me, cats are much more easier to care for than my dogs, but there could always be the unexpected. I groom, feed, clean cat litter, and sometimes I take them out for walks in a cat bubble backpack for them to experience the outside without a leash. I've had abandoned kittens meow and scratch at my window and kittens just lying in the middle of street, and I've helped them by giving them new homes through the SPCA. The irony in having cats and dogs is that I'm allergic to them, however, that doesn't stop me from loving them. I take allergy pills everyday so that I can easily handle my pets and hopefully yours, as well. I've had other pets from bunnies, birds, goats, and pigs (Yes, seriously!) and I love them all. I also play piano and violin, so I could play for your pets! I'm a young student striving to shoot for an animal career (vet, for instance), and working as a pet-sitter is one of the vital steps in moving my way through. So yea, I'm 18 and young, but I've got guns (figuratively). I wish to work around the New Orleans area, but could be flexible to other areas.
Reviews
Alli is a really big animal lover. She has pet sitted my two babies—both cats before. My cats are really fickle and choosy with whom they show love to, and they have loved Alli from the start! She is great with spending quality playtime with them and follows instructions precisely regarding feedings. She has petsit my two cats more than 4 times—whenever I’m out of town, I call Alli. She has also watched my mother’s elderly dog and shows the same amount of care. I’d trust no one with my pets more than Alli.
Allison is an animal enthusiast and she gives great care and attention to animals/pets no matter if it is her own if it is a stray she finds near the door of her house. She also has extensive knowledge on the care of a variety of animals and genuinely loves to care and play with them.
