Pet care experience
Hello! I am a current small animal veterinary technician (~6 years) and aspiring veterinarian. I have owned dogs of all sizes my whole life and would be more than happy to offer the following for your pet: meet and greets before visits if necessary, multiple walks (or runs) per day, play time with toys and/or other dogs, basic puppy commands/potty training, and a report after our visit is completed to let you know how your dog felt about it! Due to my diverse animal care background ranging from exotic animals, lab animals, all the way to your pets I am up for any challenges your pet may have. I am able to administer medications/supplements (oral or injectable), feed specific diets, watch over your dog after surgery, and take care of your pet no matter the age or size. I live in a spacious two bedroom apartment on the third floor (stairs only to get to the top) with my two dogs Murphy (Great Dane) & Opal (Chihuahua Australian Shepherd Mix) and my two cats Howie (Sphynx) & Dobby (Orange Tabby, Domestic Shorthair). Our home, as you can imagine is very dog friendly, but we do ask that your furry friend is good with other dogs/cats if boarding with us. All of my animals generally get along with others as long as introduced properly. I'm looking forward to hanging out with your pets and am willing to meet whatever special needs your pets may have! As an animal care professional with many years of experience, I assure you, your pet will be in good hands.
Reviews
Luna had an amazing stay with Alissa and her pups. She was super communicative and sent lots of pics and updates. Would def stay with her again! :)
Alissa was fantastic! She loves animal and very reliable! Haley had a good time while I was away and I felt peace of mind. She left me a nice note recapping her stay with Haley. Definitely recommend and will be using her again!!
Alissa is an amazing dog owner, along with loving all animals! She loves being a vet tech and taking care of animals of all shapes and forms. Alissa is very serious when it comes to taking care of animals and would be a great choice as a pet sitter :)

I will always give your pet the same care I give my patients at work and my own fur (& furless) babies. They will receive at least three walks a day when boarding with us & can be separated from the other animals if needed. I only take one animal or multiple from the same family so your pets will always have the attention they need. I am not one of those sitters who will have 3-5 dogs at once. As for walks and drop-ins, I love to exercise and also love to relax so whether your pet needs someone to snuggle with or someone to run with, I am more than able to accommodate.

Information Alissa W. would like to know about your pet
The main things I would need to know about your dog before sitting him or her are as follows: Can your dog be aggressive or leash reactive? (Don’t worry, my Dane is very leash reactive so we have dealing with this mastered). Does your dog get along with other dogs? Does your animal have any specific requirements (i.e. medications, special diets, needs to be kenneled at certain times, etc)? How frequently would you like services provided for your pet? What is your pet's normal daily schedule? I am more than happy to do meet and greets before visits, stays, and walks- it's good for your pup and for me! If you think your pet will be fine, I’m also fine with foregoing the meet & greet.
A typical day
I can take your pup for walks wherever he or she prefers to go- on grass, in the street, or on sidewalks. Having dogs of my own, we have plenty of toys to play with and share or feel free to bring your own with you if you plan to board with us. I also love to exercise so if you have a super energetic little friend I would have no problem talking them on a run instead or in addition to a walk. Potty training and teaching puppy manners can be hard, but I would be more than happy to help out after having a large amount of experience in this area as well.

Availability
As a veterinary technician, my hours can be long, but I currently have more days off during the week available as I am finishing my masters program. I am available to board throughout the week (and come home on my lunch breaks to care for my own animals so yours would not be left too long either). I plan to fill my days off during the week with drop-ins & walks for study breaks!
